Pier Pressure is a music festival held in Gothenburg, Sweden. The first festival was held in 2007 and sold over 18,000 tickets. Gothenburg (; abbreviated Gbg; sv, Göteborg ) is the second-largest city in Sweden, fifth-largest in the Nordic countries, and capital of the Västra Götaland County. Enter Shikari (stylised as enter: shikari and occasionally as ΣΠΤΣ℞ SΗΦΚ∆℞Φ) are a British rock band formed in St Albans, Hertfordshire, England in 1999 by bassist Chris Batten, lead vocalist and keyboardist Rou Reynolds, and drummer Rob Rolfe. In 2003, guitarist Rory Clewlow joined the band to complete its current line-up, and it adopted its current name. In 2006, they performed to a growing fanbase at Download Festival as well as a sold-out concert at the London Astoria. April Divine (formerly Starfuck and Bloody April) is a Swedish rock band. They are currently signed tAsom Records(AD III). Previous albums are released on the labels: Supernova Records/Bonnier Amigo Music Group (Redemption) anNinetone records(Chapter one). History April Divine was founded in 1996 under the name Starfuck. They played all around Sweden got signed for their first album - Chapter one in 2006. Due to international marketing they had to change the band name. In January 2006, they were signed to Swedish indie-label Ninetone Records. Union Entertainment Group was willing to distribute their album '' Chapter One'', released on 29 January, in 2007. Sounds Like Violence
Sounds Like Violence are a four-piece emo/indie rock group from Ängelholm, Sweden. They are currently signed to Deep Elm Records (within the United States) and Burning Heart Records (in the rest of the world). Their debut album, With Blood On My Hands, was released on 12th Feb, 2007 to some critical acclaim. They previously released an EP, titled The Pistol, in 2004 and contributed songs to Deep Elm compilations including "Emo Diaries No. 10" and a "Split" EP. History Sounds Like Violence decided to stay in their hometown Ängelholm. The indie rock group formed by Vocalist/guitarist Andreas Söderlund in 2001. Blindside (band)
Blindside is a Swedish rock band from the southern suburbs of Stockholm. They formed in Stockholm in 1994 as Underfree. In 1996, they changed their name to Blindside and released the ''Blindside'' album in 1997 through Swedish independent record company Day-Glo Records. Another album, ''A Thought Crushed My Mind'', came out in 2000. The group received greater attention in 2001 when they toured with P.O.D., resulting in a contract with Elektra. In 2002 they released the album ''Silence'' and in 2003 they toured in support of Hoobastank. A 2004 headlining tour suffered equipment theft but then Blindside released ''About a Burning Fire''. Mando Diao is an alternative rock band from Borlänge, Sweden. The band got their breakthrough with the release of the album '' Hurricane Bar''. Their main fan base is in Sweden, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Japan. Sugarplum Fairy
Sugarplum Fairy is a pop-rock band from Borlänge, Sweden. The members took the name from a version of the Beatles' song " A Day in the Life" where John Lennon counts the song in by saying "sugar-plum-fairy, sugar-plum-fairy". Sugarplum Fairy was founded in 1998 by brothers Victor (Viktor) and Carl Norén and by Kristian Gidlund. The band released several demos before being signed to EMI Records in 2004, releasing the EP Stay Young to generally positive reviews. Later they released their first single, "Sweet Jackie", from their first full-length album ''Young & Armed'' released later that year (September 29, 2004). The Sounds are a Swedish indie rock band. Formed in Helsingborg in 1998, the group's musical style has been compared to new wave acts such as Blondie, The Cars, the Epoxies and Missing Persons. Gogol Bordello
Gogol Bordello is an American punk rock band from the Lower East Side of Manhattan, formed in 1999 by musicians from all over the world and known for theatrical stage shows and persistent touring. Much of the band's sound is inspired by Romani music mixed with punk and dub, incorporating accordion and violin (and on some albums, saxophone). The band has appeared in several popular films, most notably ''Everything Is Illuminated'' (2005) in which lead singer Eugene Hütz co-starred with Elijah Wood in a dramedy/adventure story about the Nazi purges in Ukraine. The group appears playing a brass band in a set that included the "Star-Spangled Banner" and the traditional Yiddish song "Bublitschki".
