Piedra Volada
Piedra Volada Falls ( Spanish: ''Cascada de Piedra Volada'') is a 453-meter (1485 foot) tall plunge rainy season waterfall in the Barranca Candameña of the Sierra Madre Occidental range in Chihuahua, Mexico. The English translation of ''Piedra Volada'' is "Flying Rock" or "Flying Stone". Geography The falls are located in Cañon Candameña, a canyon of the Copper Canyon ''(Barranca del Cobre)'' region, within the Ocampo Municipality of the State of Chihuahua. The head of the canyon is home to Cascada Basaseachi, Mexico's third highest waterfall at 243 meters (800 feet). Copper Canyon
Copper Canyon (Spanish: Barrancas del Cobre) is a group of six distinct canyons in the Sierra Madre Occidental in the southwestern part of the state of Chihuahua in northwestern Mexico that is in size. The canyons were formed by six rivers that drain the western side of the Sierra Tarahumara (a part of the Sierra Madre Occidental). All six rivers merge into the Rio Fuerte and empty into the Gulf of California. The walls of the canyon are a copper/green color, which is the origin of the name. Basaseachic Falls (Spanish: ''Cascada de Basaseachi'') on the Basaseachic River is the second-highest waterfall in Mexico, located in the Parque Nacional Basaseachic (Basaseachic Falls National Park) at Cañón Basaseachic in the Copper Canyon region of northwest Mexico, near Creel, Chihuahua.
