Picchalli Srinivas
Picchalli Srinivas is an Indian singer, music director, theatre personality and activist, known for his works in Kannada. Apart from numerous folk songs, Srinivas has sung a few film songs. For his song "Dodda Gowdara" in the movie ''Amasa'', he won the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer in 2003-04. He also served as the President of ''Karnataka Janapada Akademi'', the State's top institution for folk and performing arts. Career Srinivas started his career as folk singer in plays along with acting in theatre. His folk songs were gained recognition for him. Bangarpet
Bangarapet is a town in Kolar district in the state of Karnataka, India. Bangarapet is the headquarters of the taluk of Bangarapet. Bangarapet was originally called Bowringpet, named after an officer working in the Kolar Gold Fields. This town came into existence as the connecting point of traffic between the gold fields and Bangalore. Ancient History The earliest known name for Bangarapet was Marmutlu, the British named it Bowringpet during their rule as the town was a connecting point to Kolar Gold Fields, the town was later named to Bangarapet after independence. Vijaya Bhaskar
Vijaya Bhaskar ( kan, ವಿಜಯಭಾಸ್ಕರ್; 1924–2002) was an Indian music director and composer who composed music for several mainstream and experimental feature films in the Kannada film industry. Scoring music for over 600 feature films, Bhaskar worked in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Marathi, Tulu and Konkani language films as well. He was a part of all of popular Kannada film director KSL Swamy's (Ravi) movies and was also known for his association with acclaimed directors Puttanna Kanagal and Adoor Gopalakrishnan. Influenced by R C Boral and Mukul Mehta, Bhaskar developed his own style of music and introduced the concept of theme music in Kannada film industry. ''Dasavala'' is a 2013 Kannada drama film starring Prem and Iswarya Menon. The film is directed by M. S. Ramesh, and also stars Hema Choudhary, Rangayana Raghu and Avinash.
