Phungling Municipality
Phungling Municipality (previously also ''Taplejung Municipality'') is a List of cities in Nepal, municipality located in Taplejung District in the Koshi Province of Nepal. The municipality was formed merging the then two Village development committee (Nepal), Village Development Committees of Phungling and Dokhu in May 2014. At the time of the 2011 Nepal census it had a population of 19,085 people and 4,480 individual households. Background Phungling was a Village development committee (Nepal), Village Development Committee along with other 49 Village development committee (Nepal), VDCs in Taplejung District before 2014. At the time of 2011 Nepal census, it had total population of 14,974 individuals and 3571 households. On 8 May 2014, Government of Nepal announced 72 new municipalities. Cities and towns in Nepal are incorporated under municipality. A municipality in Nepal is a sub-unit of a district. The Government of Nepal has set-out a minimum criteria for municipalities. These criteria include a certain population, infrastructure and revenues. Birtamod ( Nepali: बिर्तामोड नगरपालिका) is a municipality in Jhapa District of Nepal. It is the commercial, educational and transport hub of Jhapa District. Jhapa
Jhapa District (; ) is a district of Koshi Province in eastern Nepal named after a Rajbanshi Surjapuri language word "Jhapa", meaning "to cover" (verb). Mechi Highway
Mechi Highway or NH02 (previously: H07) () is a two-lane freeway in Koshi Province, spanning about 268 kilometers in length. The highway connects all the districts of former Mechi zone, hence the name ''Mechi''. It runs from the Village Development Committee of Kechana in Jhapa district in the south to the remote north of Taplejung through the district of Ilam. The main destinations along the highway include Kechana, Baniyani, Prithivinagar, Bhadrapur, Duhagadhi, Budhabare, Kanyam and Phikkal. The highway shares a junction with Mahendra Highway at Charali. Limbu People
The Limbu (Limbu language, Limbu: ) are a Sino-Tibetan ethnolinguistic group indigenous to the Himalayan region of eastern Nepal, northeastern India and western Bhutan. In India, the Limbus live in the Indian state, states of Sikkim, Assam, Nagaland and northern West Bengal, i.e. North Bengal. Subba is a title given by the Shah Kings only to Limbu village chiefs. Subba was not an indigenous Limbu terminology, but now the two terms are almost interchangeable. It was how the village chiefs were distinguished from other villagers in Limbu tribe.
