''Phosphor'' is the first studio album released by the band Unheilig Unheilig (German for "Unholy") is a German band that draws from a variety of influences, including various Pop music, pop and Electronic music, electronic styles as well as heavier, Nihilism, nihilistic hard rock. The band was founded in Aache ..., released on 19 March 2001. All of the artwork for the album is taken from the music video for the song "Sage Ja!". This is the only album by Unheilig with songs sung in English with the exception of a few singles, EPs, remixes and covers. In July 2009, ''Phosphor'' was re-released with new artwork and a remastered audio track. (; "New German Hardness", sometimes abbreviated as NDH), also known as dance-metal, is a crossover style drawing from Neue Deutsche Welle, alternative metal, groove metal, electro-industrial and techno. It developed in Germany and Austria during the early-to-mid 1990s and early 2000s. Alluding to the style of Neue Deutsche Welle, the term was coined by the music press after the 1995 release of Rammstein's first studio album '' Herzeleid''. Characteristics describes a crossover style that is influenced by Neue Deutsche Welle, alternative metal and groove metal combining it with elements from electro-industrial and techno. It was released in 2002 in two versions, a standard one-disc edition and a limited two-disc edition (which includes the ''Tannenbaum'' EP as a bonus disc). The album has several traditional German Christmas songs, including the popular "O Tannenbaum "" (; "O fir tree"), known in English as "O Christmas Tree", is a German Christmas song.
