Phool Singh Rathiya
Phool Singh Rathiya (born 1967) is an Indian politician from Chhattisgarh. He is an MLA from Rampur Assembly constituency, which is reserved for Scheduled Tribes community, in Korba district. He won the 2023 Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly election, representing the Indian National Congress. Early life and education Rathiya is from Rampur, Korba district, Chhattisgarh. His late father, Hariram Rathiya, was a farmer. He passed Class 8 in 1997, and later discontinued his studies. Career Rathiya won from Rampur Assembly constituency, representing Indian National Congress in the 2023 Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly election. He polled 93,647 votes and defeated his nearest rival, Nanki Ram Kanwar of Bharatiya Janata Party, by a margin of 22,849 votes. The Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly or the Chhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha is the unicameral state legislature of Chhattisgarh state in India. The seat of the Vidhan Sabha is at Raipur, the capital of the state. Nanki Ram Kanwar (born 21 July 1943) is an Indian politician served as Home Minister of Government of Chhattisgarh. He is a member of Bharatiya Janta Party and was also Cabinet Minister in Sunder Lal Patwa ministry in Government of Madhya Pradesh. He joined politics from Jan Sangh and won 1977 Assembly election on Jan Sangh ticket. He is well noted for his support of aggressive stance against the Naxalites. In 2006 he was noted for supporting the Salwa Judum. By 2010 he was known to have looked at alternate methods for fighting terrorism. He is also known for taking a strong stance against improper investigative techniques of the Chhattisgarh police. He was also in controversy for suggesting that Swami Agnivesh was supporting Maoists. Korba District
Korba District is an administrative district of Chhattisgarh state in central India. The headquarter of this district is Korba. It is the Largest District (By Area) in the state. History The district is named for the Korwa tribe that inhabits the northern part of Chhattisgarh. Korba was formerly known as Gourigarh. The district was originally ruled by the Haihaiyas until it was conquered by the Marathas during their expansion into Chhattisgarh. Various parts of the district were controlled by small zamindars belonging to a variety of communities such as Gond and Kanwar. The Korwas managed to overthrow the rulers of Gourigarh and ruled the region until being displaced by the Rajputs under Ratan Singh. 2023 Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Election
Legislative Assembly elections were held in Chhattisgarh in two phases on 2023 elections in India, 7 November and 17 November 2023 to elect all List of constituencies of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, 90 members of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly. The votes were counted and the results declared on 3 December 2023. Janta Congress Chhattisgarh (J) (; JCC) is a political party in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh. The party was founded by former Chief Minister, Ajit Jogi, after Jogi and his son Amit were expelled from Indian National Congress due to anti-party activities as well as sabotaging a bypoll election in Antagarh. 2018 Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Election
The 2018 Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly election was held to elect members to the Legislative Assembly of the Indian State of Chhattisgarh. The election was held in two phases for a total of 90 seats; the first for 18 seats in South Chhattisgarh on 12 November 2018, and the second for the remaining 72 on 20 November. The INC got a landslide victory winning 68 seats against the ruling BJP's 15 seats, and consequently formed the government after 15 years as opposition party. Incumbent Chief Minister Raman Singh resigned on 11 December, the day of counting and declaration of result, taking the responsibility for the defeat in the elections.
