Phoenix Christian Preparatory School
Phoenix Christian Preparatory School is a private, non-denominational Christian school located in Central Phoenix. It was the first Christian high school in the state of Arizona when it was founded. History Founded as Old Paths Christian School in 1912, the school was incorporated in 1949 as Phoenix Christian High School, it is a college preparatory. It moved to its current location on Indian School Road a couple of years later. For most of its history, the school operated as a four year high school. Enrollment at the time was at about 400 to 450 students. In the early 1990s, the junior high school was added, and in 2003, the adjacent Light and Life grade school, previously operated by the Free Methodist church on 18th Avenue, was merged with the high school, forming one system known as Phoenix Christian Unified Schools. Robert Reynolds Jones III (born August 8, 1939) is an American academic administrator, preacher, and writer. The son of Bob Jones Jr. and grandson of Bob Jones Sr., he served as the third president of Bob Jones University from 1971 to 2005. Vonda Kay Van Dyke
Vonda Kay Van Dyke (born May 19, 1943) was crowned the 1965 Miss America on September 13, 1964. Earlier in the year, she had taken a break as a 21-year-old junior at Arizona State College at Flagstaff (as of 1966, Northern Arizona University) to become Miss Arizona. Timothy F. Rattay (; born March 15, 1977) is an American American football, football coach and former player who is an offensive analyst for the LSU Tigers football, LSU Tigers. Steve Green (born August 1, 1956) is an American contemporary Christian music singer. Early life Green was born in Portland, Oregon, to Charles and Jo Green, who were Baptist missionaries. He spent much of his early life in Argentina and then proceeded to attend Phoenix Christian High School along with two of his six siblings. He graduated from Phoenix Christian High School in 1974 and, at age 18, enrolled at Grand Canyon University. His intended major was pre-law, but a professor recognized his musical talent and encouraged him to develop it.
