Phoebe Paterson Pine
Phoebe Paterson Pine (born 3 December 1997) is a British paralympian and archer. She won gold in the Women's individual compound open at the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo. She defeated Jessica Stretton, and Tatiana Andrievskaia, to advance to the final. She competed at the 2024 Paralympics in Paris. Career Born in Siddington, Gloucestershire, Paterson Pine competed at the 2017 World Para Archery Championships, where she won a bronze medal. Paterson Pine was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2022 New Year Honours for services to archery. She won the bronze medal in her event at the 2022 World Para Archery Championships held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. 2022 New Year Honours
The 2022 New Year Honours are appointments by some of the 15 Commonwealth realms to various orders and honours to recognise and reward good works by citizens of those countries. The New Year Honours are awarded as part of the New Year celebrations at the start of January and those for 2022 were announced on 31 December 2021. Jodie Grinham
Jodie Michelle Grinham (born 26 July 1993) is a British archer who represents Great Britain in the Summer Paralympics. She won a silver medal at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro and at the 2024 Summer Paralympics she won team gold and individual bronze, while seven months pregnant with her second child. Personal life Grinham was born with a short left arm, no fingers and only half a thumb on her left hand. She was the first person with such a disability to attempt archery, so to avoid breaking the rule that the bow must not be attached to the archer, Grinham and her father Symon created a novel way of helping her grip her bow. She was a student at BPP Law School in Waterloo, London. Career Grinham first started archery in 2008.
