Philippine Animation
Philippine animation, also known as Pinoy animation or Filipino animation, has a strong history of animation in Southeast Asia started in the mid-20th century. Pioneered in Cartooning in the Philippines, cartooning, the animation provided in media including films, television commercials and series, and video games. It came out the very first animated short was the Philippine comics, komiks illustrator and cartoonist Larry Alcala, Lauro "Larry" Alcala, the founding father of Philippine animation. The early years of Philippine animation were mainly commercial advertising in the mid-1950s and later reinvented as a medium and avant-garde, art form started in 1961. Yo-yo
A yo-yo (also spelled yoyo) is a toy consisting of an axle connected to two disks, and a string looped around the axle, similar to a spool. It is an ancient toy with proof of existence since 440 BC. The yo-yo was also called a bandalore in the 17th century. It is played by holding the free end of the string known as the ''handle'' (by inserting one fingerusually the middle or ring fingerinto a slip knot), allowing gravity (or the force of a throw and gravity) to spin the yo-yo and unwind the string (similar to how a pullstring works). Tony Velasquez
Antonio "Tony" Velasquez (29 October 1910 – 1997) was a Filipino illustrator regarded as the Father of Tagalog comics and as the pioneer and founding father of the Philippine comics industry. He was the co-creator of ''Kenkoy'', an “iconic Philippine comic strip character”. Biography Family background Velasquez was born in Ulilang Kawayan, Paco, Manila. He was the sixth child of a Pangasinense father, Eusebio Velasquez, and a Caviteña mother, Andrea Santos. Education Velasquez studied at the Jose Rizal College. Filipino values are social constructs within Filipino culture which define that which is socially considered to be desirable. The Filipino value system describes "the commonly shared and traditionally established system of values underlying Filipino behavior" within the context of the larger Filipino cultural system. These relate to the unique assemblage of consistent ideologies, moral codes, ethical practices, etiquette and personal and cultural values that are promoted by Filipino society. Animation
Animation is a filmmaking technique whereby still images are manipulated to create moving images. In traditional animation, images are drawn or painted by hand on transparent celluloid sheets to be photographed and exhibited on film. Animation has been recognised as an artistic medium, specifically within the entertainment industry. Many animations are either traditional animations or computer animations made with computer-generated imagery (CGI). Stop motion animation, in particular claymation, has continued to exist alongside these other forms. Animation is contrasted with live action, although the two do not exist in isolation.
