Philadelphia Blazers
The Philadelphia Blazers were an ice hockey franchise in the World Hockey Association (WHA) for the 1972–73 WHA season based in Philadelphia. The team's home ice was the Philadelphia Convention Hall and Civic Center. The franchise was originally intended to be based in Miami, Florida, and called the Screaming Eagles, but due to money problems and a lack of a suitable arena, the franchise instead moved to Philadelphia. After only one season in Philadelphia, the team relocated to Vancouver for the start of the 1973–74 WHA season and became the Vancouver Blazers. Two years later the franchise moved again, this time to Calgary where it was called the Calgary Cowboys. In 1977, the franchise folded. Bernie Parent
Bernard Marcel Parent (born April 3, 1945) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender who played 13 National Hockey League (NHL) seasons with the Philadelphia Flyers, Boston Bruins, and Toronto Maple Leafs between 1965 and 1979, and also spent one season in the World Hockey Association (WHA) with the Philadelphia Blazers during the 1972–73 season. Parent is widely acknowledged as one of the greatest goaltenders of all time. During the 1973–74 and 1974–75 seasons, in what many consider the finest consecutive seasons ever by a goaltender, the Flyers won the Stanley Cup twice and Parent won the Vezina Trophy and Conn Smythe Trophy both seasons. Yves Archambault (born June 22, 1952, in Montreal, Quebec) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. Early life Archambault was born in Montreal. As a youth, he played in the 1965 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a minor ice hockey team from Montreal. Marcel Paille
Joseph Marcel Rejean Paille (December 8, 1932 – October 7, 2002) was a Canadian ice hockey goaltender. He played 107 games in the National Hockey League with the New York Rangers from 1957 to 1965, and 15 games in the World Hockey Association with the Philadelphia Blazers during the 1972–73 season. The rest of his career, which lasted from 1953 to 1974, was mainly spent in the minor American Hockey League (AHL) with the Providence Reds, and he set several AHL career playoff records. Cleveland Crusaders
The Cleveland Crusaders were a professional ice hockey team from Cleveland. They played in the World Hockey Association from 1972–73 WHA season, 1972 to 1975–76 WHA season, 1976. Their home ice was the Cleveland Arena from 1972 to 1974, and the Richfield Coliseum from 1974 to 1976. History The team was owned by Nick Mileti, who had been the founder of the NBA's Cleveland Cavaliers, and also owned Major League Baseball's Cleveland Indians. Danny Lawson
Daniel Michael Lawson (October 30, 1947 — September 15, 2008) was a Canadian ice hockey right winger who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) from 1968 to 1972 and the World Hockey Association (WHA) from 1972 to 1977. He led the WHA in goal scoring in its inaugural season. Junior career Lawson played junior for the Hamilton Red Wings of the Ontario Hockey Association, who were sponsored at the time by the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League. André Lacroix (ice Hockey)
André Joseph Lacroix (born June 5, 1945) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player in the National Hockey League and the World Hockey Association, and is the WHA's all-time leading career scorer. Playing career A centre notable for his playmaking, penalty-killing, and faceoff skill, Lacroix played junior hockey for the Peterborough Petes, leading the league in assists in both the 1964–65 and 1965–66 seasons and in points the latter season.
