Phil Schilling
Phil Schilling (January 1, 1940 – May 26, 2015) was an editor at ''Cycle'' magazine from 1970 until 1988, including nine years as editor-in-chief. For his contributions to journalism and motorcycle racing, he was inducted to AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame in 2011 and into the Ducati North America Hall of Fame in 2006. Schilling died in Santa Barbara May 26, 2015.Obituary

''Cycle'' was an American motorcycling enthusiast magazine, published from the early 1950s through the early 1990s. During its heyday, in the 1970s and 1980s, it had a circulation of more than 500,000 and was headquartered in Westlake Village, California, near the canyon roads of the Santa Monica Mountains, where ''Cycles editors frequently road tested and photographed test bikes. History ''Cycle'' was founded by Robert E. Petersen of Trend Inc. and Petersen Publishing, which also published ''Hot Rod'' and ''Motor Trend'' magazines. Petersen sold ''Cycle'' to Floyd Clymer in July 1953. Motorcycle Hall Of Fame
The AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum is an offshoot of the American Motorcyclist Association, recognizing individuals who have contributed to motorcycle sport, motorcycle construction, or motorcycling in general. It also displays motorcycles, riding gear, and memorabilia in two floors of exhibits. The American Motorcyclist Association board began planning the museum 1998. AMA Superbike
AMA Superbike Championship is an American motorcycle racing series based in the United States. The series is organized by MotoAmerica and is sanctioned by the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) as well as the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM). For most of its existence it has been considered the premier motorcycle road racing series in the United States. The championship features “highly modified, production based liter class motorcycles” competing at premier tracks across the country. The AMA Superbike Championship can trace its roots back to the AMA Open Production event that began in 1973. AMA Open Production was hosted alongside the AMA Road Race National at Laguna Seca Raceway in 1973 and 1974.
