Phetchabun Mountains
The Phetchabun mountains (, , ) are a mountain massif in Phetchabun Province, Phetchabun, Phitsanulok Province, Phitsanulok, Loei Province, Loei and Chaiyaphum Provinces, Thailand. It consists of two parallel mountain chains, with the valley of the Pa Sak River in the middle. The strange rock formations of Phu Hin Rong Kla and fields where the Curcuma alismatifolia, Siam tulip flower (''Curcuma alismatifolia''), known as ''dok krachiao'' (ดอกกระเจียว) in Thai language, Thai, grows wild are some of the characteristics of the Phetchabun Mountains. Phetchabun Province
Phetchabun (, ) is one of Thailand's seventy-six provinces (''changwat'') and lies in lower northern Thailand. Neighbouring provinces are (from north clockwise) Loei, Khon Kaen, Chaiyaphum, Lopburi, Nakhon Sawan, Phichit and Phitsanulok. Geography and climate Phetchabun is in the lower northern region of Thailand, in the area between the northern and the central region. Dong Phaya Yen Mountains
Dong Phaya Yen or Dong Phya Yen (, ; , , lit. "jungle of the cold lord") is a mountain range in Phetchabun, Chaiyaphum, Lopburi, Saraburi, and Nakhon Ratchasima Provinces, Thailand. As the Dong Phaya Yen is less compact and lower in height than the mountain ranges to the north and to the south, the first roads and railroads connecting the region of Isan with the capital Bangkok were built across these mountains. Before the construction of the railroad at the beginning of the 20th century, communication between these two parts of Thailand was difficult. The survey for the building of the Northeastern Line of the State Railway of Thailand began in 1887. Phu Ruea
Phu Ruea (), is a 1365 m high mountain in Loei province, Thailand. It is in Phu Ruea district. This mountain is part of the Phetchabun Mountains, a massif forming a natural boundary between northern Thailand and Isan. The peak rises seven kilometers north of Highway 203, between Loei town and Phetchabun. The name of the mountain comes from the fact that it looks like an upside down boat () from certain angles. The Phu Ruea High Altitude Agricultural Research Station is on the mountain and Phu Ruea National Park encompasses the peak. The park borders Sainyabuli province in Laos at its northern end. Most of the mountain is covered in mixed evergreen forest. The area around the mountain is part of the Luang Prabang montane rain forests ecoregion. Phu Kradueng
Phu Kradueng (), is a high mountain in Loei Province, Thailand. It is in Phu Kradueng District, giving its name to the district. Its west side borders Nam Nao District of Phetchabun Province. This mountain is part of the Phetchabun Mountains, a massif forming a natural boundary between North Thailand and Isan. Phu Kradueng rises nine kilometres west of Highway 201. Description The name of the mountain comes stems from its silhouette looks like a large bell (; ''kradueng''). Chaiyaphum (, ; , ) is a town ('' thesaban mueang'') in northeastern Thailand, capital of Chaiyaphum Province. it had a population of 58,350, and covers the full ''tambon'' Nai Mueang of Mueang Chaiyaphum District. The Mekong or Mekong River ( , ) is a transboundary river in East Asia and Southeast Asia.
