Phenyo Butale
Phenyo Butale is a Motswana politician and the current Minister of International Relations of Botswana. He has served as Member of the Parliament of Botswana since 2024 under the Umbrella for Democratic Change. He is also communication specialist, broadcaster, researcher and academic. Career Butale became an MP in the Parliament of Botswana in 2014. Before his election, he was involved in Media fraternity. Prior to joining politics, Butale worked in the civil society as Country Director for the Media Institute of Southern Africa - Botswana Chapter, and later as executive director of Freedom of Expression Institute in Johannesburg. Dumelang Saleshando
Dumelang Saleshando (born 13 September 1971) is a Motswana politician and economist who has served as the Leader of the Botswana Congress Party since 2010. Saleshando has been the Leader of the Opposition since November 2024. He also serves as MP for Maun North since 2024. Early life and education Saleshando was born on 13 September 1971, is the firstborn of five sons to Gilson Saleshando, a politician, and Keatlaretse Dolly Saleshando, a nurse. He attended numerous schools growing up in Kanye, Lobatse, Selebi-Phikwe and was brought up in the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) is a centre-left politics, centre-left to Left-wing politics, left-wing Electoral alliance, alliance of political parties in Botswana. Gaborone Central is a constituency in Gaborone represented in the National Assembly of Botswana by the Minister of International Affairs, Phenyo Butale of the Umbrella for Democratic Change since the 2024 general election. Constituency profile The constituency was created in 1994 as part of an expansion that increased the number of Gaborone constituencies from two to four. Duma Gideon Boko (born 31 December 1969) is a Motswana politician and lawyer who is currently serving as the sixth President of Botswana since 1 November 2024 and as leader of the Umbrella for Democratic Change since 2012.
