Phantom Limb is an independent record label based in Brighton, UK, founded in 2017 by James Vella. The label is run by Vella and publicist Ken Li, and focuses on experimental music, experimental, ambient music, ambient, and electronic music, electronic music, but branching as widely as hip-hop, experimental metal, indie music, indie, folk music, folk and dance music. Their release formats include vinyl, CDs, cassettes, and digital downloads. In 2022, celebrating their fifth anniversary, the label was extensively documented by online platforms such as Bleep (store), Bleep, Carhartt Work in Progress, HHV, The Ransom Note, Threads Radio and others. Iggor Cavalera
Igor Graziano Cavalera (born 4 September 1970) is a Brazilian musician, best known as the former drummer for the heavy metal band Sepultura, which he co-founded with his brother Max in 1984. Max left the band in 1997, and Igor himself would depart nine years later, making him the last original member of Sepultura to leave the band. The brothers have since reunited in the band Cavalera Conspiracy. He has played in the bands Nailbomb and Strife. As his hip-hop influences grew stronger, he began to DJ. Cavalera is one half of DJ duo Mixhell, a project he founded with his wife Laima Leyton. Joseph Kamaru, better known as KMRU, is an ambient musician. He was born in Nairobi, Kenya, and later relocated to Berlin, Germany. Musical career As a child, Kamaru played the guitar and sang in a choir. He first discovered electronic music in high school, after finding a copy of FL Studio on the school's computers. Kamaru is known for being prolific; he published almost twenty releases on Bandcamp between 2017 and 2021. Kamaru was part of an Ableton Live ad in 2019, in which he recorded field recordings from a broken piano. His 2019 extended play ''Erased'' used piano, field recordings, and synthesized drums. Shigeru Ishihara, better known by the stage name DJ Scotch Egg, is a Japanese producer of chiptune/ gabba music based in Berlin, Germany. He has released music on the Wrong Music label and Adaadat, and was signed to Load Records after Lightning Bolt were impressed by his music. A new album entitled ''Scotch Hausen'' was released in Spring 2007. Richard Skelton is an English musician, living on the west coast of Ireland. Music career Following the death of his wife Louise in 2004, he began to make music as a way of coming to terms with the tragedy. His music, which uses a number of instruments – principally guitar and violin, has been compared with that of Arvo Pärt among others. His recordings explicitly reference places of emotional resonance, specifically the West Pennine Moors, and the area around the sparsely populated parish of Anglezarke. Loraine James (born 18 December 1995), also known as Whatever the Weather, is a British electronic music producer and musician. Early life Loraine James was raised in an Alma Estate tower block in Enfield, North London. Her interest in music began in childhood. She took piano lessons, and was allured by 2000s alternative bands like Paramore and Death Cab for Cutie, as well as the calypso and funk music her mother introduced her to.
