Dhundiraj Govind Phalke (Pronunciation: Help:IPA/Marathi, [d̪ʱuɳɖiɾaːd͡ʒ pʰaːɭke]), popularly known as Dadasaheb Phalke (30 April 1870 – 16 February 1944), was an Indian producer-director-screenwriter, known as "the Father of Indian cinema". His debut film, ''Raja Harishchandra'', was the first Indian movie released in 1913, and is now known as India's first full-length mythological feature film. He made 94 feature-length films and 27 short films in his career, spanning 19 years until 1937, including his most noted works: ''Mohini Bhasmasur'' (1913), ''Satyavan Savitri'' (1914), ''Lanka Dahan'' (1917), ''Shri Krishna Janma'' (1918) and ''Kaliya Mardan'' (1919). Rohit Phalke (born 10 October 1997) is an Indian actor. He made his debut with '' Balak-Palak'' film in Marathi cinema. Career Phalke has acted in Marathi movie '' Balak-Palak'' and also in a show on Star Pravah named ''Be Dune Daha''. He has also written and directed a short film named 'Dadu' which is based on a father-daughter relationship. Rohit has played one of the three leading roles in the Marathi movie '' Manjha'', directed by Jatin Wagle, alongside Ashwini Bhave. The Maratha Empire, also referred to as the Maratha Confederacy, was an early modern India, early modern polity in the Indian subcontinent. The Maratha Clan System (also referred to as Shahannava Kuli Marathas, 96 Kuli Marathas) refers to the 96 Maratha (caste), Maratha clans. The clans together form the Maratha caste of India. These Marathas primarily reside in the Indian state of Maharashtra, with smaller regional populations in other states. Origin The 96 clans that the Maratha (caste), Maratha caste is divided into were originally formed in the earlier centuries from the amalgamation of families from the (Kunbi), shepherd (Dhangar), pastoral (Gavli), blacksmith (Lohar (caste), Lohar), carpenter (Sutar), Bhandari caste, Bhandari and Thakar (caste), Thakar castes in Maharashtra. Bhonsle
The Bhonsle (or Bhonsale, Bhosale, Bhosle) are a prominent group within the Maratha clan system of India. History Earliest members The earliest accepted members of the Bhonsles are Mudhoji Bhonsle and his kin Rupaji Bhonsle, who were the village headman (pāṭīl) of Hingani — this branch has been since known as Hinganikar Bhonsles. A branch seem to have split soon, who went on to claim an ancestral right to the post of district steward (deśmukhī) of Kadewalit: Suryaji Bhonsle during the reign of Ahmad Nizam Shah I (early 1490s), and his son Sharafji Bhonsle during the conquest of the region by Daniyal Mirza (1599). House of Scindia or earlier known as the Sendrak was a Hindu Maratha Royal House that ruled the erstwhile Gwalior State in central India. Ranoji Scindia rose as a prominent military commander under Peshwa Bajirao I. Ranoji and his descendants, along with Holkars, played a leading role during the Maratha ascendancy in northern India in the 18th century. The Gwalior State became a princely state during the British Raj in the 19th and the 20th centuries. Parmar, also known as Panwar or Pawar is a Rajput clan that claims descent from the Agnivanshi lineage. House Of Holkar
The Holkars (pronunciation: �o(ː)ɭkəɾ were the ruling house of the Indore State of the Maratha Confederacy, and earlier held the rank of Subahdar under Peshwa Baji Rao I of the Maratha Empire. When the Maratha Confederacy began to weaken due to internal clashes, the Holkars declared themselves the rulers of Indore in Central India, existing as an autonomous member of the Maratha Confederacy until 1818.
