John Pettinger
Captain John Stuart Pettinger DCM (born 1953) is a former officer of the Parachute Regiment in the British Army and a veteran of the Falklands War during which he was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal (DCM) for bravery. This was a field award for other ranks of the British Army and was the oldest British award for gallantry, at that time ranking second only to the Victoria Cross. His DCM was one of only eight awarded during the conflict, five of which were awarded to the Parachute Regiment. Pettinger was invested with his Distinguished Conduct Medal by Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace in 1982. Andrew Pettinger (born 21 April 1984) is an English former professional footballer and goalkeeping coach at Cleethorpes Town, where he is also registered as a player. He was the product of the Scunthorpe United youth system, before moving to Premier League side Everton. During his time at the Toffees he played in the 2002 FA Youth Cup final. Eric Robinson "Cowboy" Pettinger (December 14, 1904 in Bradford, England, United Kingdom — December 24, 1968) was a British-born Canadian professional ice hockey player. Pettinger played 98 games in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Ottawa Senators, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Boston Bruins between 1928 and 1931. The rest of his career, which lasted from 1923 to 1937, was spent in various minor leagues. Pettinger is the brother of fellow NHL player Gord Pettinger. Playing career As a child, Pettinger's family moved to Regina, Saskatchewan. Paul Allen Pettinger (born 1 October 1975) is an English former professional footballer and coach who is a goalkeeping coach for Worsbrough Bridge Athletic. Billy Pettinger (born February 1, 1982) is a Canadian-born singer and songwriter who performs under the moniker Billy the Kid. She also fronts the rock band Billy and the Lost Boys and played drums in Vancouver's longest surviving Ramones cover band, the Ramores. Pettinger has been the primary songwriter in all of her original projects and has collaborated with such artists as Garth Hudson from The Band and Bob Dylan, Frank Turner and Jamie Candiloro.
