Petrus Method
Speedcubing or speedsolving is a competitive mind sport centered around the rapid solving of various combination puzzles. The most prominent puzzle in this category is the N-dimensional_sequential_move_puzzle, 3×3×3 puzzle, commonly known as the Rubik's Cube. Participants in this sport are called "speedcubers" (or simply "cubers"), who focus specifically on solving these puzzles at Optimal solutions for the Rubik's Cube, high speeds to get low clock times and/or fewest moves. The essential aspect of permutation, solving these puzzles typically involves executing a series of predefined algorithms in a particular sequence with eidetic memory, eidetic prediction and finger tricks. Yiheng Wang
Yiheng Wang ( zh, c=王艺衡, p=Wáng Yìhéng; born 16 December 2013) is a Chinese competitive speedcuber. He currently holds the Rubik's Cube world record average of 3.91 seconds and the 2nd fastest single solve of 3.08 seconds. He also holds the 2×2×2 world record average with a time of 0.88 seconds. Cubing career Wang entered his first World Cube Association (WCA) competition in September 2019, at age five. He won his first competition title in January 2021, at age seven. In August 2023, at age nine, he came within 0.01 seconds of winning the 2023 WCA World Championship, finishing in second place behind America's Max Park and just ahead of Poland's Tymon Kolasiński. Lars Petrus
Lars Erik Petrus (born 4 November 1960) is a Swedish accomplished speedcuber. He has been described as a Rubik's Cube icon and master. Information Petrus grew up in Gammelstaden just outside of Luleå.''Aftonbladet'', 4 November 1981. He took up speedcubing in the early 1980s, learning it over the course of a summer when he was unemployed. In 1982, he became the national champion of Sweden, and went on to finish fourth overall at the first official Rubik's Cube World Championships held in Budapest, Hungary. He later published his method, known as the Petrus system, on the Internet. It became a fairly popular method among intermediate and upper-level speedcubers, although its more recent use has diminished considerably due to the increased predominance of methods such as ZZ, Roux, and CFOP. Ernő Rubik
Ernő Rubik (; born 13 July 1944) is a Hungarian architect and inventor, widely known for creating the Rubik's Cube (1974), Rubik's Magic, and Rubik's Snake. While Rubik became famous for inventing the Rubik's Cube and his other puzzles, much of his recent work involves the promotion of science in education. Rubik is involved with several organizations such as Beyond Rubik's Cube, the Rubik Learning Initiative and the Judit Polgar Foundation, all of which aim to engage students in science, mathematics, and problem solving at a young age.
