Petrovsky Stadium
The Petrovsky Stadium () is part of a sports complex that consists of a number of buildings, with the stadium being used mostly for football and sometimes athletics. The Grand Sport Arena of the Petrovsky Sport Complex was the home of Zenit Saint Petersburg until 2017 and Tosno in 2017–2018. The complex also contains another football stadium, Minor Sport Arena (MSA). MSA of Petrovsky, as of 2022, was used by several teams that compete in lower professional leagues: Dynamo Saint Petersburg and Zenit-2 Saint Petersburg (selected matches). The capacity of MSA is 2835. The whole complex is located in the Petrograd region of central St. Petersburg on Petrovsky Island – an island in the Malaya Neva River connected to the adjacent Petrogradsky islands through Zhdanovsky bridge. Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov ( 187021 January 1924), better known as Vladimir Lenin, was a Russian revolutionary, politician and political theorist. Petrovsky Island
Petrovsky Island () is an island in St. Petersburg, Russia, bordered by the Malaya Neva, Malaya Nevka, and Zhdanovka Rivers (in the delta of the Neva River). History The island was called Stolbovy or Pattisaari in the early 18th century. It belonged to Tsar Peter the Great in 1710 (hence the name) with two amusement houses built for him. There were warehouses for foodstuff and other goods in the island in the 18th century. In 1768, a wooden palace was erected for Catherine the Great and a Petrovsky Park set up around it in the southeast of the island, the palace burnt down in 1912 though. The island was built up with industrial enterprises from the second half of the 19th century such as Novaya Bavaria Brewery, rope works, and curtain and lace manufacturing. Sportivnaya (Saint Petersburg Metro)
Sportivnaya () (literally - Sportage) is a station on the Frunzensko-Primorskaya Line of the Saint Petersburg Metro. The station was designed by Alexander Konstantinov, Alexander Bystrov and Andrey Larionov. It opened on 15 September 1997 as part of the Pravoberezhnaya Line. Sportivnaya is the only two-level single-vault transfer metro station outside Washington D.C. The floors are connected by two groups of escalators, one of which is closed . The lower floor serves the southbound trains while the upper floor serves the northbound ones. The upper floor is linked to the station's exit to south-eastern side of Petrogradsky island. Petrogradsky Island or Petrograd Island (Russian: Петроградский остров) is the third-largest island in the Neva River delta in Saint Petersburg, Russia. The Neva ( , ; , ) is a river in northwestern Russia flowing from Lake Ladoga through the western part of Leningrad Oblast (historical region of Ingria) to the Neva Bay of the Gulf of Finland. FC Zenit-2 Saint Petersburg () is a Russian football team from Saint Petersburg. It plays in the Russian Second League (third level). It is a farm club for the Russian Premier League team FC Zenit Saint Petersburg.
