Petroupoli
Petroupoli (, meaning "city of stone") is a semi-mountainous town in Attica, in the west suburbs of Athens. Petroupoli was part of the community of Nea Liosia until 1946, when it became a separate community. It was elevated to municipality status in 1972. Geography Petroupoli is situated in the eastern foothills of the Zacharitsa (Poikilo Oros) mountain, 7 km northwest of Athens. The municipality has an area of 6.597 km2. West Athens (regional Unit)
West Athens () is one of the regional units of Greece. It is part of the region of Attica. The regional unit covers the west-central part of the agglomeration of Athens. In the last twenty years it has experienced growth, which was contributed to by the establishment of the TEI of Athens and Piraeus, the new workplaces in tertiary production, the theme parks, shopping centres and the general climate of regeneration. Also, the arrival of the Metro and the transport development projects that have been announced have played a catalytic role in demographic development. Ano Liosia () is a town and a former municipality in the northern part of the Athens agglomeration, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Fyli, of which it is the seat and a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 38.447 km2. Aspropyrgos (, ) is a western suburb, in the Athens metropolitan area and a municipality in the West Attica regional unit in the Thriasio Plain, Attica, Greece. Aigaleo or Egaleo (), and known in antiquity as Poikilon Oros (Ποικίλον Όρος), is a mountain next to the Athens urban area, in Attica, Greece.
