Petr Fiala (senator)
Petr Fiala (born 24 November 1968) is a Czech politician and senator who has served for 46 Ústí nad Orlicí since 2022. He previously served as a representative of the Pardubice region from 2008 until 2012 until his return in 2016. Early life Fiala worked as a conductor of passenger and international trains, train conductor of international Letohrad express trains, later economist at the railway station in Letohrad. Fiala served as vice-chairman of the Czech-Moravian Hockeyball Association between 1998 and 2000, after which he became held the position of its chairman until 2010. Political career In the 2002 Czech municipal elections, Fiala failed to run as an independent candidate for the Association for Letohradsko for Letohrad City Council. Ústí nad Orlicí (; ) is a town in the Pardubice Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 14,000 inhabitants. Letohrad
Letohrad (; until 1950 Kyšperk; ) is a town in Ústí nad Orlicí District in the Pardubice Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 6,400 inhabitants. The historic town centre is well preserved and is protected as an urban monument zone. ''Deník'' is a regional daily newspaper in the Czech Republic. History Originally owned by German publishing company Verlagsgruppe Passau (VGP), ''Deník'' has been owned by Penta Investments since 2015. VGP has a monopoly on the Czech regional press. In September 2006, regional newspapers across the Czech Republic were rebranded to ''Deník'' with a regional adjective appended, including ''Pražský deník'' (). Czech Social Democratic Party saw heavy losses and came second. 2017 Czech legislative election resulted in another victory of ANO 2011 while Social Democrats were reduced to 6th place.
