Peter Worthington (cricketer)
Peter Colin Worthington (born 12 July 1979) is an Australian cricketer. An all-rounder, he attended the Australian Cricket Academy in 2003. He played in seven first-class cricket matches for the Western Warriors – one in 2002–03, five in 2003–04 and one in 2004–05. His best bowling of 6/59 – his only 5-wicket haul at senior level – came in Western Australia's first Pura Cup match of 2003–04. With three wickets in South Australia's first innings and 50 runs with the bat in a losing run chase, this was easily his best first-class performance, and the only occasion on which he was man of the match. His performances subsequently faded, and he fell out of contention for a place in the state side, but he hit 73* – his second first-class half-century, and his highest batting score at senior level – in his last first-class match, against New South Wales. Middle Swan is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia, and forms part of the City of Swan local government area. The suburb is bordered to the west by the Swan River. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. In Twenty20 cricket, Western Australia (nicknamed the Warriors) played 31 matches between 2006 and 2011, all in the KFC Twenty20 Big Bash. The team made its Twenty20 debut in the 2005–06 competition. Western Australia finished second in the 2007–08 competition, qualifying them for the 2008 Champions League Twenty20 in India, which was later canceled due to political unrest. After the 2010–11 season, the competition was replaced by the Big Bash League, with Western Australia replaced by the Perth Scorchers franchise. Great Witchingham
Great Witchingham is a village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk about north-west of Norwich. It covers an area of and had a population of 564 in 235 households at the 2001 census, including Lenwade but reducing to a population of 496 in 219 households at the 2011 Census. For the purposes of local government, it falls within the district of Broadland. Great Witchingham parish contains the hamlet of Lenwade. The parish church of St Mary is a Grade I listed building dating from the 14th century. The One-Day Cup, known as the Marsh One-Day Cup for sponsorship reasons, is an Australian domestic List A 50-over limited-overs cricket tournament. It has had many different names, formats and teams since the inaugural 1969-1970 season. Initially a knockout cup, the competition now features a single round-robin followed by a finals series. The tournament is contested between teams representing the six states of Australia, who also compete in the first-class Sheffield Shield.
