Cristian Dzwonik
Cristian Gustavo Dzwonik (born 18 March 1971 in Buenos Aires), better known by his pseudonym Nik, is a cartoonist from Argentina, creator of Gaturro, and current cartoonist in the paper La Nación. He received the 2002 Konex Platinum Award for Best cartoonist, and four times the prize SIP (Sociedad Interamericana de Prensa). His works have been published throughout Latin America, the United States, Spain and France France, officially the French Republic, is a country located primarily in Western Europe. Francisco Solano López
Francisco Solano López Carrillo (24 July 1827 or 1826 – 1 March 1870) was a Paraguay, Paraguayan statesman, Officer (armed forces), military officer and politician who served as President of Paraguay between 1862 and 1870, of which he served mostly during the Paraguayan War (1864–1870). He succeeded his father Carlos Antonio López as the second president of Paraguay. He is the only Paraguayan president to have been killed in action. He is one of only two Paraguayans to have received the rank of Marshal, along with José Félix Estigarribia. He is officially recognized as the country's national hero since the presidency of Colonel Rafael Franco between 1936 and 1937 after decades of Liberal Party (Paraguay), liberal governments that rejected his figure as heroic. Carlos Loiseau
Carlos Loiseau (November 9, 1948 – May 8, 2012) was a prolific Argentine cartoonist and humorist. He was popularly known in Argentina by his byline, ''Caloi''. Life and work Loiseau was born in Salta, and he was raised in Adrogué and Buenos Aires from age six. Adopting a portmanteau pseudonym based on his full name ("Caloi"), his caricatures first appeared in the popular current events weekly, '' Tía Vicenta'', in 1966, and his first comic strip appeared in ''María Belén'' in 1967; both were satirical weeklies published by a fellow cartoonist, Juan Carlos Colombres. Loiseau's first marriage, at age 19, ended after two years. His first book, ''El libro largo de Caloi'' (''Caloi's Long Book''), was published in 1968, and in his first animated short, ''Las Invasiones Inglesas'' (''The British Invasions''), in 1970. Macanudo (comic)
''Macanudo'' is an Argentine daily comic strip by the cartoonist Liniers. It has been published since 2002 in the newspaper ''La Nación''. It appears on the last page of the paper. Macanudo is published in newspapers and book collections in several countries, such as Brazil, Canada (Quebec), Czech Republic, and Italy. Since September 2018, the strip is distributed in English by King Features Syndicate. Just like Liniers' previous strip, ''Bonjour'', Macanudo is very experimental and deals with meta humor. It has been considered very popular. In May 2025, it was announced an animated series based on the comic strip is currently in production. The series will be produced by Mercury Filmworks and is slated for 2027 or 2028. Liniers (cartoonist)
Ricardo Siri (Buenos Aires, November 15, 1973), better known by the name Liniers, is an Argentine cartoonist. Early life Liniers is related to viceroy Santiago de Liniers. He began drawing from a very early age; he has remarked that he began to draw in order to enjoy movies at home. "I wanted to have ''Star Wars'' and the only way to have it was to draw it. So we could look at it whenever we wanted to." His father was a lawyer and his mother worked at various jobs, including making slippers and little paintings. He has two younger siblings and is married to the writer Angie Erhardt del Campo. They have three daughters named Matilda, Clementina, and Emma. Loveless (comic Book)
''Loveless'' is an American Western comic book series for mature readers published by DC Comics as a part of that company's Vertigo imprint. It is written by Brian Azzarello and drawn by Marcelo Frusin, Danijel Zezelj and Werther Dell'Edera. There are 24 issues total. Plot ''Loveless'' is about a man, Wes Cutter, who fought for the South in the Civil War and was captured. After spending time in a prison camp he comes back to his previous home of Blackwater after the North won to find the town under Union control and his house occupied. Soon after, Cutter is offered a position of sheriff in the town. The comic's early issues explore the dynamic relationship between Cutter and the people of the town (most of whom hate him), the fate of Cutter's wife Ruth, and the lingering feelings of animosity between North and South after the end of the war. ''John Constantine, Hellblazer'' is an American contemporary Horror fiction, horror comic-book series published by DC Comics since January 1988, and subsequently by its Vertigo Comics, Vertigo imprint since March 1993, when the imprint was introduced. Its central character is the streetwise English sorcerer and con man John Constantine, who was created by Alan Moore and Stephen R. Bissette, and first appeared as a supporting character in ''Swamp Thing'' (vol. 2) #37 (June 1985), during that creative team's run on that title. Marcelo Frusin
Marcelo Frusin (born 27 December 1967 in Rosario) is an international Argentine comic book artist. His notable works include a run on ''Hellblazer''. Biography Frusin started his career working for the Argentine Columba Publishing house in 1993. For the Italian publisher Universo, he has illustrated the ''Niko Slavo'' series in '' Intrepido'' magazine between 1994 and 1997. In 1998 he started working for the US market in Marvel Comics, making pencils for '' X-Men Unlimited'', written by Tom DeFalco. He later worked for Acclaim Comics also drawing pencils for ''Magnus, Robot Fighter'', scripted by Tom Peyer. Frusin's style resembles his fellow Argentine artist Eduardo Risso ('' 100 Bullets''). ''Mad'' (stylized in all caps) is an American humor magazine which was launched in 1952 and currently published by DC Comics, a unit of the DC Entertainment subsidiary of Warner Bros. Discovery.
