Peter Walsh (footballer)
Peter Walsh (born 24 July 1976) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for Melbourne and Port Adelaide in the Australian Football League (AFL). After two years at West Adelaide, Walsh made it on Melbourne's rookie list and was runner-up in the 1998 Gardiner Medal with good performances in the reserves. He made his league debut in 1999 and was a regular in the team throughout the year. The following season he missed just one game and had 20 disposals from a half back flank in the 2000 AFL Grand Final loss to Essendon. His best football was played in 2001 and he polled 11 votes at the Brownlow Medal to finish as the top placed Melbourne player, with three best on grounds. Peter Alexander Walsh (11 March 193510 April 2015) was an Australian politician. He was a Senator for Western Australia from 1974 to 1993, representing the Australian Labor Party (ALP). He held senior ministerial office in the Hawke government, serving as Minister for Resources and Energy (1983–1984) and Minister for Finance (1984–1990). Early life Walsh was born on 11 March 1935 in Kellerberrin, Western Australia, the second son of Dorothy (née Ray) and Robert Walsh. His parents had moved from Victoria a few years earlier to take up a lease on a sheep and wheat farm at Doodlakine in the Wheatbelt. Walsh attended Doodlakine Primary School and completed his junior certificate by correspondence, leaving school in 1948 at the age of 13 to work on the family farm. Peter Lindsay Walsh (born 9 January 1954) is an Australian politician. He has been a National Party member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly since 2002, representing the electorate of Swan Hill until 2014 and Murray Plains thereafter. He was state leader of the Nationals from 2014 to 2024 and served as Minister for Agriculture and Food Security and Minister for Water in the Baillieu and Napthine Coalition governments. Early life and career Walsh was born and raised at Boort in Northern Victoria, attending Fernihurst Primary School and Boort Secondary College. He was the president of the Victorian Farmers Federation from 1998 until his election to parliament in 2002. Peter Walsh OAM is a sports commentator for ABC Radio Grandstand and is based in Adelaide, Australia. Early life/career Peter grew up in Ballarat, Victoria and had a passion for sport from a very early age. His first media job was working in radio at Ballarat station 3BA, where he covered junior football and was then given the chance to write for the '' Ballarat Courier'' newspaper. Peter Walsh (born 1960) is a British record producer and engineer. Walsh began his career as an engineer at London's Utopia Studios in the late 1970s, working with Stevie Wonder, the Tubes, Spandau Ballet and the Boomtown Rats amongst others. His breakthrough was as assistant producer on the 1981 debut studio album by Heaven 17, '' Penthouse and Pavement'' (1981). Following this success he went on to produce several artists among them Peter Gabriel, China Crisis, Gene Loves Jezebel and Simple Minds. Peter Walsh, O.F.M., (; c. 1618 – March 15, 1688) was an Irish theologian and controversialist. Biography Peter Walsh was born near Mooretown, County Kildare. His father was a chandler in Naas, and his mother is said to have been an English protestant. He studied at Franciscan College of St. Anthony in Leuven, where he joined the Friars Minor, and acquired Jansenist sympathies. In 1646 Walsh went to Kilkenny, then in the hands of the rebel " confederate Catholics," and, in opposition to the papal nuncio Rinuccini, urged, and in 1649 helped to secure, peace with the viceroy Ormonde on behalf of King Charles I. Walsh was arrested by the militant Irish Confederate Catholic faction in 1646, along with other "peace party" advocates like Richard Bellings after the Treaty they had negotiated with Ormonde and the English Royalists was rejected in the Confederate General Assembly. ''Mrs Dalloway'' is a novel by Virginia Woolf published on 14 May 1925. It details a day in the life of Clarissa Dalloway, a fictional upper-class woman in post-First World War England. The working title of ''Mrs Dalloway'' was ''The Hours''. The novel originated from two short stories, "Mrs Dalloway in Bond Street" and the unfinished "The Prime Minister". In autumn 1922, Woolf began to think of the "Mrs Dalloway" short story as the first chapter of her new novel, and she completed the manuscript in late autumn 1924. The book describes Clarissa's preparations for a party she will host in the evening and the ensuing party. With an interior perspective, the story travels forwards and backwards in time to construct an image of Clarissa's life and the inter-war social structure.
