Peter Wagner (Manitoba Politician)
Peter Wagner (June 6, 1916 in Fisher Branch, Manitoba – August 13, 1995) was a politician in Manitoba, Canada. He served in the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba from 1958 to 1962, at first for the Cooperative Commonwealth Federation and later for its successor party, the NDP. Of German and Ukrainian background, Wagner was educated in Manitoba and worked as a farmer. Before entering politics, he was president of the local Cooperative Association and the Pool Association, also serving as chair of the local school board and as director of the Manitoba Farmer's Union in 1957. He married Dora Mamchuk, who died in March 2012. He was first elected to the Manitoba legislature in the 1958 provincial election, defeated incumbent Liberal-Progressive Nicholas Bachynsky by 56 votes in the mid-northern constituency of Fisher. Fisher Branch is an unincorporated community recognized as a local urban district in the Rural Municipality of Fisher in the Canadian province of Manitoba. It is located on Highway 17 in the north Interlake Region of the province. Fisher Branch was originally named Wasoo, but later was changed to Fisher Branch because it was beside a branch of the Fisher River. The primary industry of Fisher Branch is agriculture. Peter Masniuk
Peter Paul Masniuk (February 17, 1920 in Morweena, Manitoba – October 21, 1995) was a politician in Manitoba, Canada. He was a Progressive Conservative member of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba from 1966 to 1969, and a federal Progressive Conservative member of the House of Commons of Canada from 1972 to 1979. The son of Paul Masniuk and Anne Fediuk, Masniuk was educated at public school in Narcisse, Manitoba. He was a section foreman with the Canadian National Railway before entering politics, and was a Union contact at Lodge 308 from 1955 to 1966. He served in the armoured car division of the 12th Manitoba Dragoons from 1942 to 1945, and was later president of Branch No. 158 of the Royal Canadian Legion from 1960 to 1965. In 1947, Masniuk married Rose Kowalchuk. He was elected to the Manitoba legislature in the 1966 provincial election in the riding of Fisher, defeating former NDP MLA Peter Wagner by 112 votes. Emil Moeller
Emil Moeller (September 16, 1902 – October 28, 1986) was a politician in Manitoba, Canada. He served as a Progressive Conservative member of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba from 1962 to 1966. The son of Karl and Anna Moeller, he was born in Dellstedt, Germany and came to Canada with his parents in 1930, settling in the Teulon area. With his brother, Moeller operated a large sugar beet and grain farm. He was a member of the Manitoba Sugar Beet Association, the Manitoba Hog Producers', the Interlake School Division, the Manitoba Pool Elevators - Teulon Branch, the local Chamber of Commerce and the Hunter Memorial Hospital.
