Peter Todd is a Canadian software developer who was an early contributor to the development of Bitcoin. Todd has been involved in cryptocurrency since the early 2010s and has worked on blockchain and privacy-focused projects. Biography Peter Todd was born in Canada. When he was 15 years old he began communicating with cypherpunks like Adam Back and Hal Finney. Gavin Andresen (formerly Gavin Bell) (born November 11, 1966) is a software developer known for his involvement with bitcoin. He is based in Amherst, Massachusetts. SegWit
Segregated Witness, or SegWit, is the name used for an implemented soft fork change in the transaction format of bitcoin. The formal title "Segregated Witness (Consensus layer)" had Bitcoin Improvement Proposal number BIP141. The declared purpose was to prevent nonintentional bitcoin transaction malleability, allow optional data transmission, and to bypass certain protocol restrictions (such as the block size limit) with a soft fork. Segregated Witness was activated on 24 August 2017. It was also intended to mitigate a blockchain size limitation problem that reduces bitcoin transaction speed. The Bitcoin scalability problem refers to the limited capability of the Bitcoin network to handle large amounts of transaction data on its platform in a short span of time. OpenTimestamps (OTS) is an open-source project that aims to provide a standard format for blockchain timestamping. With the advent of systems like Bitcoin, it is possible to create and verify proofs of existence of documents (timestamps) without relying on a trusted third party; this represents an enhancement in terms of security, since it excludes the possibility of a malicious (or careless) trusted third party to compromise the timestamp.
