Peter Scholl
Peter Scholl (5 October 1934 – 26 January 2019) was a German tennis player. Born in Baden-Württemberg, Scholl was a protege of Gottfried von Cramm, who trained him and a number of other select players in Duisburg. He was a Davis Cup player for West Germany from 1956 to 1958, with his only singles win coming against France's Pierre Darmon. In 1961 he won West Germany's national indoor singles championship. Scholl became known after retirement for his instructional tennis books. Pierre Darmon
Pierre Darmon (born 14 January 1934) is a French former tennis player. He was ranked No.8 in the world in 1963, and also reached the top ten in 1958 and 1964. Early life Darmon was born in Tunis, Tunisia. He moved to France at 17 years of age. Tennis career Darmon was French national junior champion in 1950. He was France's top-ranked tennis player from 1957 to 1969, and won the national title nine times in that period. He also won the French national doubles championship in 1957 (with Paul Rémy), 1958 (with Robert Haillet), 1961 (with Gérard Pilet), and 1966 (with François Jauffret). In 1963, Darmon was the runner-up in singles at the French Open, where he beat Manuel Santana in five sets in the semi-finals before losing to Roy Emerson in the final in four sets. Gottfried Alexander Maximilian Walter Kurt Freiherr von Cramm (; 7 July 1909 – 8 November 1976) was a German tennis player who won the French Open, French Championships twice, becoming the first non American, British, Australian or French player to win a singles Grand Slam (tennis), Grand Slam title at the 1934 French Championships – Men's singles, 1934 French Championships, and reached the final of a Grand Slam singles tournament on five other occasions. He was ranked number 2 in the world in 1934 and 1936, and number 1 in the world in 1937.
