Peter Sauder
Peter Sauder is a Canadian film and TV writer, television producer and animator best known for his contributions to Nelvana franchises such as ''Care Bears'' (whose three movies he wrote), ''Babar'', ''Strawberry Shortcake'' and '' Star Wars: Droids''. Peter, who is originally from Toronto, wrote the first ever story for another hit Nelvana series, '' Franklin''. He is sometimes credited as Pete Sauder. Sauder also served as head writer for the first season (1983–84) of DiC's ''Inspector Gadget'' (the first season was co-produced with Nelvana), as well as Disney Channel/CBC's live-action series '' The Edison Twins''. In the late 1990s, he was story editor for the animated television programs '' Rolie Polie Olie'' and ''Donkey Kong Country''. An animator is an artist who creates images, known as frames, which give an illusion of movement called animation when displayed in rapid sequence. Animators can work in a variety of fields including film, television, and video games. ''Intergalactic Thanksgiving'', sometimes known as ''Please Don't Eat The Planet'', is a 1979 Canadian Thanksgiving animated television special that premiered on CBC and in the United States in syndication on November 22, 1979. ''Intergalactic Thanksgiving'' was the fourth television special produced by Nelvana in their 1977 to 1980 series of specials, ''A Cosmic Christmas'', '' The Devil and Daniel Mouse'' and '' Romie-0 and Julie-8'', all premiering in 1977, 1978 and 1979. ''Dog City'' is an animated television series that was produced by Nelvana Limited and Jim Henson Productions in association with Channel 4 and Global Television Network. The series ran for three seasons, airing on Fox Kids from September 26, 1992, to November 26, 1994; in Canada, the series aired on YTV until 2000. My Pet Monster is a character that began as a plush doll first produced by American Greetings in 1986. It has horns, blue fur, a fanged smile, and wears breakaway orange plastic handcuffs. The property was sold to Saban Brands in 2012. Then in 2018, Hasbro acquired the My Pet Monster brand from Saban Brands. Merchandise The My Pet Monster character began as a plush doll first produced by AM Toys, a subsidiary of American Greetings, in 1986. As one of the few plush dolls marketed to boys at the time, My Pet Monster was popular in the late 1980s and early 1990s. ''The Care Bears Family'' is an animated series produced by Nelvana based on the American franchise of the same name, and is the successor series to the series produced by DIC Entertainment.
