Peter Sagan
Peter Sagan (; born 26 January 1990) is a Slovak former professional cyclist who competed in road bicycle racing and mountain bicycle racing. Sagan had a successful junior cyclo-cross and mountain bike racing career, winning the junior cross-country race at the 2008 UCI Mountain Bike & Trials World Championships, before moving to road racing. He ended his cycling career in 2024. Sagan is considered a generational talent, having earned many prestigious victories out of a total of 121 professional wins. His most notable achievements were an unprecedented three consecutive men's road race World Championships from 2015-2017 inclusive, and his record seven Points classifications in the Tour de France. He also won two of cycling's monuments, the Tour of Flanders (2016) and Paris–Roubaix (2018), and was awarded the prestigious Vélo d'Or in 2016, the season when he also topped the UCI World Ranking. 2022 Tour De France
The 2022 Tour de France was the 109th edition of the Tour de France. It started in Copenhagen, Denmark on 1 July 2022 and ended with the final stage on the Champs-Élysées, Paris on 24 July 2022. Denmark's Jonas Vingegaard () won the General classification in the Tour de France, general classification for the first time. Two-time defending champion Tadej Pogačar () finished in second place, and former winner Geraint Thomas () finished third. The Giro d'Italia (; ), also known simply as the Giro, is an annual stage race, multiple-stage bicycle racing, bicycle race primarily held in Italy, while also starting in, or passing through, other countries. The UCI Road World Championships Elite Men's Road Race is a one-day event for professional cyclists that takes place annually. The Tour of California (officially sponsored as the Amgen Tour of California) was an annual professional road cycling stage race on the UCI World Tour and USA Cycling Professional Tour that ran from 2006 to 2019. It was the only event on the top-level World Tour in the United States. The eight-day race covered 650–700 miles (1,045–1,126 km) through the U.S. state of California. The Tour de Pologne (; ), officially abbreviated TdP, is an annual, professional men's Race stage, multiple-stage cycle sport, bicycle race primarily held in Poland. It consists of seven or eight stages and is usually around 1,200 km in length. The race was first held in 1928 and is considered the oldest and most important bicycle race in Poland. Until 1952 the race was held sporadically, but since then it has been an annual race. Until early 1993 the race was open to Amateur sports, amateur cyclists only and most of its winners came from Poland. Since 2009, the race has been taking place between July and August. A race stage, leg, or heat is a unit of a race that has been divided in several parts for the reason such as length of the distance to be covered, as in a multi-day event. 2011 Vuelta A España
The 2011 Vuelta a España was held from 20 August to 11 September. The bicycle race began in Benidorm with a team time trial and ended, as is traditional, in Madrid. The 2011 Vuelta was the 66th edition of the race and was the first Vuelta in 33 years that visited the Basque Country. The 33-year absence from the region was due to fear of political protests. Commentators claimed that it was a race well suited for climbers due to the short time trials and the large number of climbing kilometres. Nine of the twenty-one stages were ranked as Mountain stages, and six of them had a mountain-top finish (including the very steep uphill finish on the Alto de L'Angliru).
