Peter Russo
Peter Russo (born 29 October 1959) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for Hawthorn in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the 1980s. After a 1988 season where he played only eight senior games, Russo, alongside Paul Harding and Robert Handley, was traded to St Kilda in exchange for the first choice in the 1988 VFL Draft. Russo spent three seasons with the Saints, although he did not play a single game in 1991 due to a knee reconstruction and retired in June of that year. Mostly used as a ruck-rover and in the forward pocket, Russo could also play in the back pocket and wing. He started his career with Hawthorn in 1978 and was a member of their 1978 premiership side. Hawthorn Football Club
The Hawthorn Football Club, nicknamed the Hawks, is a professional Australian rules football club based in Mulgrave, Victoria, that competes in the Australian Football League (AFL). Mentone Grammar is an independent, Anglican co-educational grammar school in Mentone, a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Ray Ball (footballer)
Ray Ball (born 20 February 1949) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Richmond and South Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Ball was a fullback, who came to Richmond from Ballarat and made six appearances early in the 1969 VFL season. He didn't play again for the rest of the year and missed out on participating in Richmond's premiership team. After playing only six more games in 1970, Ball crossed to South Melbourne but struggled with injury in his first season with the club. He was a regular fixture in the South Melbourne side in 1972 and 1973, playing 16 games in each season. Once his time at South Melbourne had come to an end, Ball continued his football career in the Victorian Football Association, where he played for Caulfield. Matthew Ball (footballer)
Matthew Ball (born 21 February 1982) is an Australian rules footballer who played with Hawthorn in the Australian Football League (AFL). Ball is the elder brother of Collingwood premiership player Luke Ball and the son of former VFL footballer Ray Ball. An Ashburton junior, he was picked up by Hawthorn in the 2000 rookie draft but would be delisted without playing a senior game. After winning the best and fairest award at Box Hill in 2003, he was given a second chance by Hawthorn when they selected him at pick 51 in the end of year national draft. Ball played 13 AFL games in the 2004 season, averaging 12 disposals. For the next two seasons he was only able make another four appearances and spent most of his time with Box Hill, where he won another "best and fairest" in 2006. Luke Ball
Luke Patrick Ball (born 25 May 1984) is a former professional Australian rules football player who played for the and football clubs in the Australian Football League. From 2003 to 2009 he played 142 games for the St Kilda Football Club where he was captain in 2007 and best and fairest and All-Australian in 2005. Joshua P. Kennedy (born 20 June 1988) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Sydney Swans in the Australian Football League (AFL). He previously played for the Hawthorn Football Club. The son and grandson of former Hawthorn players, Kennedy was originally recruited to Hawthorn in the 2006 national draft under the father–son rule. Felix Russo
Felice Angelo "Felix" Russo (10 June 1926 – 15 February 2005) was an Australian rules footballer who played with St Kilda in the Victorian Football League (VFL). He had a son, father-in-law, two sons-in-law and three grandchildren who have all played VFL/AFL football. Biography Football Educated at De La Salle College, Russo captained his school to a premiership in 1944. He was recruited to locally from Elwood. As well as playing for Elwood CYMS he also played some of his early football for Footscray Technical School Old Boys. Russo, who worked as a physical education instructor, debuted for St Kilda at the age of 23 in the 1950 VFL season. Used as a wingman, he played eight games in his first season of VFL football.
