Peter Rundel
Peter Rundel (born 1958 in Friedrichshafen), is a German violinist and conductor. A recipient of the Grand Prix du Disque in 1998 for his recording of Jean Barraqué's complete works, he became conductor of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Flanders in 1999 and the musical director of the Wiener Taschenoper since 2000. Since 2005, he has been conductor of the Remix Ensemble in Casa da Música, Porto, Portugal. Friedrichshafen
Friedrichshafen ( or ; Low Alemannic: ''Hafe'' or ''Fridrichshafe'') is a city on the northern shoreline of Lake Constance (the ''Bodensee'') in Southern Germany, near the borders of both Switzerland and Austria. It is the district capital (''Kreisstadt'') of the Bodensee district in the federal state of Baden-Württemberg. Friedrichshafen has a population of about 63,000. History 19th and early 20th century Friedrichshafen was established in 1811 as part of the new Kingdom of Württemberg, an ally of France during the Napoleonic Wars. It was named for King Frederick I of Württemberg, who privileged it as a free port and transshipment point for the kingdom's Swiss trade. Friedrichshafen was created from the former city of Buchhorn, whose coat of arms it adopted. The Klangforum Wien is an Austrian chamber orchestra, based in Vienna at the Konzerthaus, which specialises in contemporary classical music. Founded by composer and conductor Beat Furrer in 1985, it is run on collective principles, having no official principal conductor. Sylvain Cambreling is principal guest conductor emeritus. Principal guest conductor is since the 2018/2019 concert season. The group is often cited as Austria's leading contemporary music ensemble, and is particularly noted for its performances of music by composers of the German-speaking countries, including Helmut Lachenmann, Wolfgang Rihm, and Hans Zender. Klangforum Wien has been in residence at multiple music festivals, including the Donaueschingen Musiktage, Wiener Festwochen and Wittener Tage für neue Kammermusik. Ensemble Modern
Ensemble Modern is an international ensemble dedicated to performing and promoting the music of contemporary composers. Formed in 1980, the group is based in Frankfurt, Germany, and made up variously of about twenty members from numerous countries. History Ensemble Modern was founded in 1980 by members of the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie. From the beginning, the ensemble chose to organize itself democratically. There is no artistic director or chief conductor; instead, all projects, productions and financial matters are decided and supported by the musicians directly. Currently, the ensemble combines 19 soloists from different backgrounds: Belgium, Bulgaria, Germany, Greece, India, Israel, Japan, Switzerland, and the United States. Since 1985, Ensemble Modern has been based in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
