Peter Renkens
Peter Renkens (28 July 1967 – 14 February 2023) was a Belgian singer. He was the frontman of Confetti's. Music career Renkens was a singer with the Belgian new beat band Confetti's which was founded in 1988. The band consisted of Renkens and four dancers. Their biggest success was ''The Sound Of C'' which achieved international acclaim. Renkens was the face of the marketing campaign, which included the single for "The Sound Of C". More commercial hits were made, including "C'Day", "C in China" and "Put 'm up". After a year of touring, during which problems arose within the band, the band disbanded in 1992. Confetti's
Confetti's was a Belgian new beat band from the 1980s. Its producers were Serge Ramaekers and Dominique Sas, sometimes credited as The Maxx (not the same as Maxx, a shorter-lived German project from the mid-1990s). On stage, Confetti's was fronted by singer Peter Renkens and female dancers Marleen, Tania, Hilde and Daniëlla. The band became one of the first to break through into mainstream music as a new beat act. Their most successful period was 1988–1989 with international hits like "The Sound of C" and "C in China". Other releases were "Keep Smiling", "C Countdown", "C Day Live" and "Circling Stars". One year after releasing their last single "Put ‘M Up" in 1990, the original setting of Confetti's withdrew from the spotlight. Wuustwezel
Wuustwezel () is a municipality located in the north of the Belgian province of Antwerp. The municipality as it is now originated in 1977, when Wuustwezel merged with the municipality of Loenhout. It now consists of three major villages, Wuustwezel proper, Gooreind and Loenhout, and two minor hamlets, Braken and Sterbos. In 2021, Wuustwezel had a total population of 21,346. The total area is 89.43 km2. The Azencross Loenhout is a December cyclo-cross competition, which is part of the BPost Bank Trophy. Deurne, Belgium
Deurne () is the second largest district of the municipality of Antwerp, Belgium, (right after the Antwerp town district) and has 82,270 inhabitants (2023). Deurne is best known for its green environment with the biggest park in Antwerp Rivierenhof. History Ancien régime Deurne was said to be the place where the Irish missionary Fredigand was abbot of Kerkelodor Abbey in the eighth century. There are indications that Deurne existed in prehistoric and Roman times but the first tangible proof of Deurne only dates back to 1185. During the Ancien régime Deurne was nothing more than part of the Eastern hinterland of Antwerp.
