Peter Morrison (Australian Footballer)
Peter Morrison (born 17 April 1956) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Footscray and South Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Morrison made just one appearance for Footscray, having been zoned to the club from Sale. At the end of the year he had a knee reconstruction and when he decided to sign with South Melbourne, Footscray received just a $500 as the transfer fee. He proved to be a bargain buy for South Melbourne and following a stop start year in 1976, became one of the club's leading players over the next four seasons. He played 22 of a possible 23 games in 1976 and had a large part in South Melbourne's win over Geelong at Kardinia Park with 36 kicks and 11 marks. In 1978 he was the top disposal getter at South Melbourne and also kicked 27 goals. The Sale Football Netball Club, nicknamed the ''Magpies'', is an Australian rules football and netball club based in Sale, Victoria and are based at the Sale Oval. The club teams compete in the Gippsland Football Netball League (GFNL). History Founded in 1877, Sale began playing official competitive football in 1889 when they joined the Gippsland Football Association, as a junior side. In 1900, the club entered the senior competition and were premiers for the first time the following year. One of the greatest players produced by the club, Brownlow Medal winner Norman Ware, came to Footscray from Sale in the 1930s. Mayne Australian Football Club is an Australian rules football club based in the Brisbane suburb of Enoggera, Queensland, Enoggera. The club colours are black and gold and they are nicknamed the Tigers. It is the most successful club in the history of the Queensland Australian Football League, Queensland's highest level of competition, with 15 premierships from the 1920s to the 1980s. Richmond Football Club
The Richmond Football Club, nicknamed the Tigers, is an Australian rules football team playing in the Australian Football League (AFL). Between its inception in the Melbourne suburb of Richmond in 1885 and 1907, the club competed in the Victorian Football Association (VFA), winning two premierships. Richmond joined the Victorian Football League (now known as the AFL) in 1908 and has since won 13 premierships, most recently in 2020. Shane Morrison
Shane Morrison (born 10 January 1981) is an Australian rules footballer who played with the Brisbane Lions and Richmond in the Australian Football League (AFL). Morrison, who grew up in Cairns, is the son of former South Melbourne player Peter Morrison. As his father had played over 50 games for South Melbourne, Morrison was eligible to be drafted by Sydney under the father–son rule. He was however also able to go to Brisbane using the rule, due to Peter's post VFL career in Queensland. Already in Brisbane playing for the Northern Eagles, he chose to go to the Lions and was picked up with the 44th selection of the 1999 AFL draft. A key position player, Morrison spent most of his career with the Brisbane Reserves, which competed in the Queensland State League (QSL) and he was a member of their 2001 premiership team.
