Peter Lonard
Peter Lawrence Lonard (born 17 July 1967) is an Australian professional golfer who has played mainly on the U.S.-based PGA Tour. Early life Lonard was born at Epping, Sydney. Professional career Lonard turned professional in 1989 and began his career on the PGA Tour of Australasia. He played on the European Tour in 1991 and 1992, where he had very moderate results. He was sidelined for nearly 18 months in 1993–94 after contracting Ross River Fever, a mosquito-carried virus which caused damage to his eyes. He worked as a club professional at Sydney's prestigious Oatlands Golf Club for three years before returning to tournament golf, topping the PGA Tour of Australasia Order of Merit in 1996/97. He returned to the European Tour in 1997 and has performed steadily with a best Order of Merit placing of 18th in 2002. Epping, New South Wales
Epping is a suburb of Sydney, in the Australian state of New South Wales, 18 kilometres north-west of the Sydney central business district in the local government area of the City of Parramatta. James Michael Furyk (born May 12, 1970) is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour and the PGA Tour Champions. In 2010, he was the FedEx Cup champion and PGA Tour Player of the Year. He has won one major championship, the 2003 U.S. Open. The Australian Masters was an annual golf tournament on the PGA Tour of Australasia held in Victoria, Australia from 1979 to 2015. History In 1989 the International Management Group took control of the management of the tournament. Though the Australian Masters usually was part of the PGA Tour of Australasia's calendar, the event was not on the Order of Merit in 1992. The PGA Tour of Australasia requested that the field expand from 100 players to a full-field of 120 players. International Management Group (IMG), which ran the event, rejected the request. Jarrod Moseley
Jarrod James Moseley (born 6 October 1972) is an Australian professional golfer. Career Moseley was born in Mandurah, Western Australia. He turned professional in 1997. He won the PGA Tour of Australasia Order of Merit in 1998/99, having won the European Tour co-sanctioned Heineken Classic during the season. He also went on to finish 16th on the European Tour Order of Merit that season, a career best. Australian PGA Championship
The Australian PGA Championship is a golf tournament on the PGA Tour of Australasia. It is the home tournament of the Australian PGA. Since 2000 it has been held in the South East Queensland region. The tournament was part of the OneAsia Tour from 2009 to 2014, and from 2015 to 2019 it was co-sanctioned with the European Tour. The championship started in 1929, when the Australian Golf Union decided to hold the Australian Professional Championship during their annual championship meeting. The leading 16 professionals in the Open championship qualified for the match play event, with four rounds of matches over 36 holes. 2002 PGA Tour Of Australasia
The 2002 PGA Tour of Australasia was a series of men's professional golf events played in Australia and New Zealand. In 2002, the PGA Tour of Australasia reverted to a calendar based schedule from a seasonal one. As such, tournaments ran from November 2001 through to December 2002, with two editions of both the Australian PGA Championship and the Australian Open. In addition, many of the tournaments from the Development Tour were re-incorporated into the main tour schedule in 2002. Three events were co-sanctioned by the European Tour, with the Johnnie Walker Classic also being sanctioned by the Asian Tour, and two were co-sanctioned by the Nationwide Tour. Nathan Green (golfer)
Nathan Andrew Green (born 13 May 1975) is an Australian professional golfer. Born in New South Wales' second-most-populous city, Newcastle, Nathan Green turned professional in 1998. During his early career, he played mostly on the PGA Tour of Australasia, and the Canadian Tour during the Australian winter. In 2000 he won the Queensland PGA Championship in Australia, and the Benefit Partners/NRCS Classic in Canada. Having failed to gain his PGA Tour card through the qualifying school, Green competed on the second tier Nationwide Tour in the United States in 2002, 2004 and 2005. ANZ Tour Championship
The ANZ Championship was a men's professional golf tournament, co-sanctioned by the European Tour and the PGA Tour of Australasia, that was played in Australia between 2002 and 2004. The event had been played as a 72-hole stroke-play tournament on the Australasian tour from 1998 to 2001 as the ANZ Tour Championship. Uniquely for both tours, it was played using a modified stableford scoring system, similar to the former PGA Tour event The International. This departure from the usual stroke play format, designed to encourage more attacking play, was not received with universal approval as the perception was that it would penalise the steadier players. Paul Gow
Paul Gow (born 10 November 1970) is an Australian professional golfer. Gow was born in Sydney, Australia. He turned professional in 1993. Gow has won three times on the Nationwide Tour, once in 1997, once in 2000, and once in 2006. He has never won on the PGA Tour, but he did come close when he lost in a playoff to Jeff Sluman at the 2001 B.C. Open. Gow is 0-for-3 in playoffs on the Nationwide Tour, all of which were lost during the 2004 season, in which he finished 11th on the final money list. Ford South Australian Open
The South Australian Open was a golf tournament on the PGA Tour of Australasia and the Nationwide Tour. History The event started in 1933 as the South Australian Close Championship. In 1950 it was renamed the South Australian Open, although it was only in 1952 that it was opened up to players from outside the state. In the late 1960s, there was no sponsor for the tournament. Therefore "only local club professionals competed." In 1975 there was a similar problem. The South Australian Brewing Company did not renew its sponsorship. Due to economic trouble in the country no other companies were willing to sponsor the event. The event did not take place that year. The event was retitled the Jacob's Creek Open Championship from 2002 to 2007, sponsored by the Jacob's Creek wine brand, and was co-sanctioned during that period by the United States-based Nationwide Tour.
