Peter Hooten
John Peter Hooten (born November 29, 1950) is an American actor. He is best known for playing the title character in the television film '' Dr. Strange'' (1978). Career Hooten started acting in 1968 at the age of 17. He appeared as an uncredited extra in ''Midnight Cowboy''. He attended Ithaca College in upstate New York. His first speaking role was a 1969 appearance on the TV drama '' Marcus Welby, M.D.''. Later, he played the title character in the 1978 TV film '' Dr. Strange'' and appeared as a guest star in ''The Waltons'', ''Mod Squad'', and ''Mannix''. James Ingram Merrill (March 3, 1926 – February 6, 1995) was an American poet. He was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for poetry in 1977 for '' Divine Comedies.'' His poetry falls into two distinct bodies of work: the polished and formalist lyric poetry of his early career, and the epic narrative of occult communication with spirits and angels, titled '' The Changing Light at Sandover'' (published in three volumes from 1976 to 1980), which dominated his later career. ''In Search of Steve Ditko'' is a BBC Four documentary. It was first shown on Sunday 16 September 2007. The documentary is part of the Comics Britannia season. It follows Jonathan Ross' attempts to track down comics artist Steve Ditko, the comics artist best known as the co-creator of Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, and many other characters. Overview The programme featured interviews with comics creators, editors and others including Jerry Robinson, John Romita Sr., Neil Gaiman, Joe Quesada, Ralph Macchio (comics), Flo Steinberg, Alan Moore, Mark Millar, Stan Lee, and Cat Yronwode. Ross, accompanied by Gaiman, met Steve Ditko at his New York City office but he declined to be photographed or interviewed for the show. However, he give the two a selection of some of his old comic books. At the end of the show Ross said he had since spoken to Ditko on the telephone and was now on first name terms with him.
