Peter Hodgman
Peter Curtis Leigh Hodgman (born 25 May 1946) is a former Australian politician. He is the son of Bill Hodgman, the brother of Michael Hodgman and the uncle of former Tasmanian Premier Will Hodgman. Hodgman first entered politics in 1974, when he was elected to the Tasmanian Legislative Council as the member for Electoral division of Huon, Huon. Like most MLCs, he was elected as an independent (politician), independent. Harry Vernon Quick (28 June 1941 – 19 October 2024) was an Australian politician. Athol Meyer
Athol Yardley Meyer (28 November 1940 – 31 July 1998) was an Australian journalist and, later, politician. He was born in Dunedin, New Zealand, but moved to Sydney to work at the ABC. He was later posted to Hobart, Tasmania. Following work and private travel in the UK and mainland Europe in the mid 1960s, Meyer was posted as an ABC foreign correspondent to Port Moresby (1968-1970) and Kuala Lumpur (1970–72). During his posting in KL, Meyer undertook several assignments in Vietnam, working closely with ABC cameraman Willie Phua (https://www.nma.gov.au/exhibitions/capturing-asia). Meyer and Phua covered preparations for a new Tet offensive (the 'Easter' offensive) and came under fire in the central highlands. John Hewson
John Robert Hewson AM (born 28 October 1946) is an Australian former politician who served as leader of the Liberal Party from 1990 to 1994. He led the Liberal-National Coalition to defeat at the 1993 Australian federal election. Hewson was born in Sydney, New South Wales, and earned a PhD in Economics from Johns Hopkins University. He has also attained degrees from the University of Sydney and the University of Regina. Before entering politics, Hewson worked as an economist for the Reserve Bank of Australia, an economic advisor to the Fraser government, a business journalist, and a director of Macquarie Bank. In 1987, Hewson was elected to the House of Representatives. He was appointed to the shadow cabinet in 1988, serving under John Howard and Andrew Peacock.
