Peter Elson (Canadian Politician)
Peter Elson (January 18, 1839 – June 11, 1913) was a Canadian politician. Born in the township of London, County of Middlesex, Upper Canada, the son of Joseph and Samantha Elson, Elson was educated at the schools of Middlesex and Hamilton. A farmer, he was deputy reeve of London township for two years, reeve for eight years, county councillor for 18 years, and warden of Middlesex County for one year. He was first elected to the House of Commons of Canada for Middlesex East in the general elections of 1904. Middlesex East (federal Electoral District)
Middlesex East was a former federal electoral district in Ontario, Canada, represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1867 to 1968. It was created by the British North America Act 1867, which divided the County of Middlesex into three ridings: Middlesex North, Middlesex West and Middlesex East. In 1882, the East Riding of the county of Middlesex it was defined as consisting of the townships of London, West Nissouri, North Dorchester and South Dorchester, the town of London East and the villages of London West and Springfield. In 1903, the east riding was defined to consist of the townships of Dorchester North, London, Nissouri West and Westminster. James Gilmour (politician)
James Gilmour (January 20, 1842 – May 15, 1908) was a Scottish-born farmer and political figure in Ontario, Canada. He represented Middlesex East in the House of Commons of Canada from 1896 to 1904 as a Conservative. Samuel Francis Glass (January 8, 1861 – April 6, 1925) was an insurance and real estate agent and political figure in Ontario, Canada. He represented Middlesex East in the House of Commons of Canada from 1913 to 1921 as a Conservative. He was born in London Township, Canada West, the son of William Glass and Phoebe Guernsey, and was educated in London and Brantford. In 1881, Glass married Josephine F. Dickson. The 1911 Canadian federal election was held on September 21, 1911, to elect members of the House of Commons of Canada of the 12th Canadian Parliament, 12th Parliament of History of Canada, Canada.
