Peter Egeli
Peter E. Egeli is a portrait artist, born in April 1934 to the late Lois Baldwin Egeli and Bjorn Egeli, Bjorn Peter Egeli of Valley Lee, MD. His subjects have included government and academic leaders. Early life Peter Egelli had his early schooling in Cheverly, MD, and then was home-schooled, with the Calvert system, until he was 14. He attended Charlotte Hall Military Academy before entering Great Mills High School where he graduated in 1952. Peter entered George Washington University and the Corcoran School of Art, where he studied with Eugene Weisz and Edmund Archer, and later joined the United States Marine Corps in 1953. He was stationed at Marine Barracks 8th & I in Washington, D. C., where he was an illustrator, with such duties as sketches for the Friday evening parades, and an instructor drawing training aids. Early life Herbjorn Peter Egeli was born in Horten, Norway. He was the eldest of the three sons of Even Egeli (1874–1915) and Josefine ''Mathilde'' Wennerstrom (1875–1921).
