Peter Blackmore (screenwriter)
Peter Blackmore (1909–1984) was a British playwright and screenwriter. His play ''Miranda'' was adapted into the 1948 film of the same title. He also wrote the comedy play '' The Blue Goose'' which appeared in the West End in 1941.Wearing p.34 His 1953 play '' Down Came a Blackbird'' ran for 53 performances at the Savoy Theatre. He worked on the screenplays for a number of comedy films for British Lion and the Rank Organisation, including two Norman Wisdom vehicles. Clevedon
Clevedon (, ) is a seaside town and civil parishes in England, civil parish in the unitary authority of North Somerset, England. It recorded a parish population of 21,281 in the United Kingdom Census 2011, estimated at 21,442 in 2019. It lies along the Severn Estuary, among small hills that include Church Hill, Wain's Hill (topped by the remains of an Iron Age hill fort), Dial Hill, Strawberry Hill, Castle Hill, Hangstone Hill and Court Hill, a Site of Special Scientific Interest with overlaid Pleistocene deposits. ''Up in the World'' is a 1956 black and white comedy film directed by John Paddy Carstairs and starring Norman Wisdom, Maureen Swanson and Jerry Desmonde. It was the third and final of their 1960s films. Plot Two British Action Man travelling salesmen are sent to the South American country of Parazuellia to sell their goods.
