Peter Baumgart
Peter Baumgart (born 7 September 1931) is a German historian. Life Born in Berlin, Baumgart was promoted D. ph in 1956 in historical thinking at the Free University of Berlin with a work supervised by Carl Hinrichs on Zinzendorf. He was Hinrichs' research assistant at the and habilitated in 1964 on the former Braunschweig-wolfenbüttelsche University of Helmstedt. The habilitation thesis remained unpublished. From 1967 until his retirement, Baumgart taught as full professor of modern history at the University of Würzburg. His main research interests are the history of education and universities in the early modern period and the history of Prussia and its provinces. He is considered an expert on (Brandenburg) Prussian statehood and culture. About the '' Soldier King'' Baumgart wrote a biography in the anthology about Prussia's ruler. Anton Schindling (20 January 1947 in Frankfurt - 4 January 2020 in Tübingen) was a German historian. He held chairs at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt (1985–1987), the University of Osnabrück (1987–1995) and the University of Tübingen (1995–2015). Thematically he worked on the history of education, the age of Confessionalization and the Holy Roman Empire. He was one of the leading early modern researchers in Germany. Peter Herde
Peter Herde (born 5 February 1933) is a German historian. His research activities range from fundamental work on papal diplomatics of the Middle Ages to the history of the country up to the Second World War. Life Herd was born in 1933 in Racibórz, Upper Silesia. He was the son of deputy headmaster Reinhard Herde and Hildegard Herde. He spent his childhood and the first years of his youth in Ratibor. Since autumn 1943 he attended the Realgymnasium Ratibor. The family fled from the Red Army at the end of January 1945 and found their new home in Arnsberg. In Neheim-Hüsten he passed his Abitur in 1953. In the summer semester of 1953 he began studying physics and mathematics at the University of Heidelberg. Neustadt an der Aisch (, ; officially: ''Neustadt a.d. Aisch'') is a small town of around 13,000 inhabitants in the northern part of Bavaria (Germany), within the Franconian administrative region Middle Franconia. It is the district town of the district Neustadt (Aisch)-Bad Windsheim. History In 741, for the first time, Riedfeld, the town's root settlement, was documented as the German king's court. However, in 1285 the town's name is documented for the first time as "Nivenstadt".
