Peter Barber (architect)
Peter Ambrose Barber (born November 1960) is a British architect recognised for his work designing social housing. He has been praised for his attempts to address the lack of homeless shelters and social housing provision in a way that aspires to well-designed urbanism. Early life Barber is from Surrey. He studied at the University of Sheffield, graduating in 1983, and Central London Polytechnic (now the University of Westminster), graduating in 1986. Career Barber began his career working with Richard Rogers, Will Alsop, and Jestico + Whiles Jestico + Whiles is an architectural firm and interior design practice based in London, UK. It has completed a number of high-profile cultural, diplomatic, hotel and retail projects in Europe. The firm Jestico + Whiles was founded by Tom Jestic .... Order Of The British Empire
The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire is a British order of chivalry, rewarding valuable service in a wide range of useful activities. It comprises five classes of awards across both civil and military divisions, the most senior two of which make the recipient either a Orders, decorations, and medals of the United Kingdom#Modern honours, knight if male or a dame (title), dame if female. There is also the related British Empire Medal, whose recipients are affiliated with the order, but are not members of it. The order was established on 4 June 1917 by King George V, who created the order to recognise 'such persons, male or female, as may have rendered or shall hereafter render important services to Our Empire'. Equal recognition was to be given for services rendered in the UK and overseas.
