Peter Aubry
Peter Aubry (born May 19, 1977) is a Canadian ice hockey coach and former professional goaltender. He is currently an associate coach at Omaha. Career Born in Windsor, Ontario, Aubry spent four years in Mercyhurst College before turning pro in 2002, signing for the Johnstown Chiefs of the ECHL and also played three games for the American Hockey League's Saint John Flames. He had single season spells over the next two years in the United Hockey League for the Elmira Jackals and back in the ECHL with the Alaska Aces before moving to Great Britain in 2005, signing for the Cardiff Devils as their starting goalie. In 2006, Aubry signed with the Essen Mosquitoes of the 2nd Eishockey-Bundesliga before moving back to the UK, signing for the Newcastle Vipers. Aubry split 2007-08 in the ECHL with the Texas Wildcatters and back in the 2nd Bundesliga with EV Landsberg before returning to the Cardiff Devils in 2008. Goaltender
In ice hockey, the goaltender (commonly referred to as the goalie) is the player responsible for preventing the hockey puck from entering their team's net, thus preventing the opposing team from scoring. The goaltender mostly plays in or near the area in front of the net called the '' goal crease'' (often referred to simply as '' the crease''). Goaltenders tend to stay at or beyond the top of the crease to cut down on the angle of shots. In the modern age of goaltending there are two common styles, butterfly and hybrid (hybrid is a mix of the traditional stand-up style and butterfly technique). Because of the power of shots, the goaltender wears special equipment to protect the body from direct impact. Elmira Jackals
The Elmira Jackals were a professional minor league ice hockey team based in Elmira, New York. They were members of the United Hockey League from 2000 to 2007 and the ECHL from 2007 to 2017. The Jackals played their home games at First Arena. On March 10, 2017, after unsuccessfully trying to the sell the team and the arena, the Chemung County Industrial Development Agency made an agreement to sell the arena to Brian Barrett but not the Jackals, announcing that the Jackals would fold after the end of the 2016–17 season. List Of All-Atlantic Hockey Teams
The All-Atlantic Hockey Teams are composed of players at all positions from teams that are members of the Atlantic Hockey Association, an NCAA Division I hockey-only conference. Each year, at the conclusion of the Atlantic Hockey regular season, the head coaches of each member team vote for players to be placed on each all-conference team. The First Team, Second Team and Rookie Teams have been named since 2003–04 (the inaugural year of Atlantic Hockey) and a Third Team was added starting in 2006–07. The all-conference teams are composed of one goaltender, two defencemen and three forwards. Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference
The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC, ) is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with NCAA Division I. Of its current 11 full members, 10 are located in three states of the northeastern United States: Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York. The other member is in Maryland. Members are all relatively small private institutions, a majority Catholic or formerly Catholic, with the only exceptions being two secular institutions: Rider University and Quinnipiac University. Ducs D'Angers
The Association des Sports de Glisse d'Angers is a French professional ice hockey team based in Angers playing in the Ligue Magnus. The team currently use the name of "Les Ducs d'Angers". The team's mascot is an eagle-owl, or grand duc (literally ''great duke'') in French, but its name is primarily intended as a reference to the prestigious Dukes of Anjou lineage. The team was founded in 1982 and plays home games at the Angers IceParc. The Team has never been French champion, but won the French cup in 2007 and 2014. EV Landsberg
EV Landsberg was the name of two ice hockey clubs in Landsberg, Bavaria, Germany. The first club was outsourced from the soccer club TSV 1880 Landsberg in 1957 and played until 1999–2000. The senior team played in the German 2nd Division for more than 30 years. In 1966 they came close to winning promotion to the top division, only losing out in a decisive playoff match against Berliner SC. Notable players were former USA Hockey executive Jim Johannson, and former Russian national team head coach Oleg Znarok. The second club with the original name EV Landsbeg 2000 was founded in 2000 when the first EV Landsberg collapsed. The club was renamed EV Landsberg in 2010 and collapsed in 2011. Texas Wildcatters
The Texas Wildcatters, who took their name from Texas wildcatters, were a professional minor league ice hockey team in the ECHL based in Beaumont, Texas. They played their home games at the Ford Arena. The franchise previously played in Huntington, West Virginia, from 1993 to 2000 as the Huntington Blizzard playing at the Huntington Civic Arena. The Wildcatters relocated to Ontario, California, and were renamed Ontario Reign. The franchise's last game as the Wildcatters was a 1–4 loss to the Columbia Inferno on April 25, 2008, at Ford Arena. From 2002–2011 the Newcastle Vipers were an ice hockey club based in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. The club was a member of the Elite Ice Hockey League, and the British National League. History Predecessors Previously, the city was represented by the Newcastle Jesters, who were founded in 1999 by Finnish businessman Harry Harkimo who purchased the franchise from the Ice Hockey Superleague. The franchise had previously been owned by John Hall who had owned the club as part of his ambitious "Newcastle Sporting Club" project and known as the Newcastle Cobras and later the Newcastle Riverkings.
