Peter Asplund
Peter Asplund (born 26 September 1969) is a jazz trumpeter, singer, and composer. Asplund studied at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. He has recorded several solo albums and participated as solo artist on records with other artists, such as Lisa Ekdahl, and Viktoria Tolstoy. He earlier performed and toured regularly with Bo Kaspers Orkester. In 2010, Asplund released an album, ''Asplund Meets Bernstein,'' in cooperation with Mats Hålling - a Swedish composer and arranger - and Dalasinfoniettan - a regional chamber orchestra. In 2014, the Konserthuset, Stockholm - the home for the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra - presented a concert (available as video with Peter Asplund and the Swedish Chamber Orchestra, led by Mats Hålling. Swedish Chamber Orchestra
The Swedish Chamber Orchestra () is a Swedish orchestra based in Örebro. Established under its current name in 1995, its primary concert venue is the Örebro Concert Hall. The historical precursor ensembles to the orchestra included the ''Harmonic Society'' (Harmoniska sällskapet), which was active from 1831 to 1837. In 1859, the ''Philharmoniska sällskapet'' (Philharmonic Society) was founded under Karl Johan Lewerth. A competitor organisation, the ''Örebro musikförening Philomele'' (Örebro Music Association Philomele), was founded in 1868, and continued operations until 1916. In 1909, the ''Örebro orkesterförening'' (Örebro Orchestra Association), as an amateur orchestra. The ensemble began to receive support from the Örebro municipality in 1912. Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra
The Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra ( or , literal translations, "Royal Philharmonic" or "Royal Philharmonic Orchestra") is a Swedish orchestra based in Stockholm. Its principal venue is the Konserthuset. History The orchestra was founded in 1902 as the Stockholm Concert Society Orchestra (''Stockholms konsertförenings orkester''). It became a permanent ensemble in 1914. Since 1926, it has been based at Stockholm Concert Hall (''Konserthuset''). Starting in 1937, Radiotjänst (now Swedish Radio) utilized the orchestra as its main broadcast orchestra, in lieu of having its in-house orchestra. In 1957, it was renamed the Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra (''Stockholms Filharmoniska Orkester''). In 1992 it acquired its present name, with patronage from the Swedish royal family.
