Pete Maina is an author, professional muskellunge (muskie) angler, professional photographer, TV show host, professional speaker and former magazine owner. Maina's specialty is muskie fishing, and has advocated for conservation of the muskie species. Maina resides in Hayward, Wisconsin. Early career Pete Maina worked at his parents family company during the winter in Wisconsin while during the summer he worked as a muskellunge, muskie guide. Muskellunge
The muskellunge ''(Esox masquinongy)'', often shortened to muskie, musky or lunge is a species of large freshwater predatory fish native to North America. It is the largest member of the pike family, Esocidae. Origin of name The name "muskellunge" originates from the Ojibwe words ''maashkinoozhe'' (meaning "great fish"), ''maskinoše'' or ''mashkinonge'' (meaning "big pike" or "ugly pike") and the Algonquin word ''maskinunga'', which are borrowed into the Canadian French words ''masquinongé'' or ''maskinongé''. Evinrude Outboard Motors
Evinrude Outboard Motors was a North American company that built a major brand of two-stroke outboard motors for boats. Founded by Ole Evinrude in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1907, it was formerly owned by the publicly traded Outboard Marine Corporation (OMC) since 1935 but OMC filed for bankruptcy in 2000. It was working as a subsidiary of Canadian Multinational Bombardier Recreational Products but was discontinued in May of 2020. Product Evinrude produced two-stroke direct-injected engines ranging from to a 3.4L V6 300 hp. They used carburetors until the late 1990s when EPA clean air regulations mandated new technologies. OMC partnered with FICHT of Germany to introduce direct injection.
