Dorothee Pesch (born 3 June 1964), known professionally as Doro Pesch or simply Doro, is a German heavy metal singer and the former frontwoman of heavy metal band Warlock. Doro's contributions to music and culture made her a global figure in metal culture for over three decades. The name Doro has also been associated with the touring band accompanying the singer, whose members have continuously changed in more than 20 years of uninterrupted activity, the most stable presences being those of bassist Nick Douglas and drummer Johnny Dee. Doro started her career in garage bands in native Düsseldorf underground scene and achieved media visibility and some commercial success with Warlock in the 1980s. Heinrich Pesch
Heinrich Pesch, S.J. (17 September 1854 – 1 April 1926) was a German Roman Catholic ethicist and economist of the Solidarist school. His major work, ''Lehrbuch der Nationalökonomie'', is generally regarded as a source for Pope Pius XI's social encyclical ''Quadragesimo anno''. Biography After studying law at Bonn, Pesch entered the Society of Jesus in 1876. He made his novitiate with exiled German Jesuits in the Netherlands. For his studies of philosophy (1878–1881) Pesch was sent to Bleijenbeek, also in the Netherlands. He completed his theological studies at Ditton Hall (1884–1888). While in England, Pesch lectured for a few years at the Stella Matutina school. He was ordained priest in 1888. From 1892 until 1900 Pesch was spiritual director at the Mainz seminary, where he wrote his first book ''Liberalism, Socialism and Christian Order''. Jean-Louis Poisson (29 June 1928 – 17 May 2023), better known as Jean Louis Pesch, was a French author of comics series, including ''Sylvain et Sylvette''. Biography Born on 29 June 1928, he lived at Juvardeil, a small village in Anjou (France). There he learned to love nature and animals. His parents being both artists, he discovered during his youth the works of several cartoonists, among them Maurice Cuvillier. Tilman Pesch
Tilman Pesch (1 February 1836, at Cologne – 18 October 1899, at Valkenburg, Limburg, the Netherlands), was a German Jesuit philosopher. Life He became a Jesuit on 15 October 1852, and made his novitiate at Friedrichsburg near Münster; he studied classics two years at Paderborn, philosophy two years at Bonn; taught four years at Feldkirch, Austria; studied theology one year at Paderborn and three years at Maria-Laach, after which he made his third year of novitiate at Paderborn. He then taught philosophy at Maria-Laach (1867–69). From 1870 to 1876 he worked in the ministry, and again taught philosophy eight years (1876–84), at the Castle of Bleijenbeek in Afferden. The Jack Pesch Bridge is a pedestrian and cyclist bridge that crosses the Brisbane River. It is named in honour of Jack Pesch (c. 1917 – 2002), a cycling champion during the 1930s. He subsequently ran a bicycle shop in Petrie Terrace, Brisbane, until the mid-1990s, selling and servicing his own 'Rocket' cycles and cycle parts.
