Pesa Tramicus
Pesa Tramicus is a uni-directional vehicle, uni-directional low-floor tram produced by Pesa (rolling stock manufacturer), Pesa in Bydgoszcz. The tram is available in three versions: a three-section (Pesa 121N, 121N) or five-section (Pesa 120N, 120N and Pesa 122N, 122N) configuration. The Tramicus is of the Two-rooms-and-a-bath car, multi-articulated type with sections connected by accordion-type Pivot joint, pivot joints. Between 2005 and 2008, a total of 33 Tramicus trams were produced, and they were delivered to Warsaw, Łódź, Elbląg, and Bydgoszcz. The experience gained from designing and operating the Tramicus family led to the development of the Pesa Swing, Swing vehicles. Pesa SA (Polish: Pojazdy Szynowe Pesa Bydgoszcz) is a Polish rolling stock manufacturer based in Bydgoszcz. The name 'Pesa' derives from the initials PS which stand for ''Pojazdy Szynowe,'' 'railway vehicles' in Polish. Pesa is a successor to the Bydgoszcz repair shops of PKP ''Polskie Koleje Państwowe,'' Polish State Railways. From the 1950s until 1998 the repair shops operated under the name ZNTK Bydgoszcz, ''Zakłady Naprawcze Taboru Kolejowego,'' 'Repair Shop for Railway Rolling Stock' in Bydgoszcz. For most of its history the Bydgoszcz shop overhauled and repaired steam locomotives and freight cars. After the collapse in 1989 of the Communist regime in Poland the ZNTK Bydgoszcz repair shop was spun off in 1991 as an independent company.
