Pery Ribeiro
Pery Ribeiro (27 October 1937 – 24 February 2012) was a Brazilian singer of bossa nova, MPB and jazz, active as a singer from 1959 until shortly before his death. Biography Pery Ribeiro was born Peri Oliveira Martins on 27 October 1937, son of the singer Dalva de Oliveira (1917–1972) and singer-songwriter Herivelto Martins (1912–1992). Ribeiro began his performing career as a child, dubbing the title character in the Walt Disney movie Bambi. In addition, he participated in the incomplete Orson Welles film '' It's All True''. In 1944, Ribeiro appeared as an actor in the musical comedy film "Berlim na batucada", by Luís de Barros. This film was a satire of Orson Welles' passage through Brazil while filming "It's All True" (the same film in which Ribeiro appeared) and the United States' "good neighbor" policy. Pery Burge (1955 – 10 February 2013) was an English artist who, during the 2000s, worked with abstract images using ink in water or ink on paper, invoking natural processes such as surface tension driven flow, gravity, turbulence, rotation and erosion. Biography Born Peronel Burge, she grew up in Launceston, Cornwall. Pery's first main interest was music, she played the piano and violin. During this time period she was also involved with scientific experiments with direction from her father. Burge developed an interest in art during her early teenage years, and was inspired by a book her mother had given her called ''You Are An Artist'' by Fred Gettings (1965). In 1972 she attended various schools before she obtained a music and art teaching certificate from Gipsy Hill College, Kingston. Colonel Edmund Colquhoun Pery, 5th Earl of Limerick (16 October 1888 – 4 August 1967) was a British peer and soldier. Life Pery was the eldest son of the 3rd Earl of Limerick and his second wife, Isabella, and was educated at Eton and New College, Oxford. He was commissioned into the City of London Yeomanry and during World War I he fought in Egypt, France and at the Battle of Gallipoli, ending the war as a Major. After the war, Pery continued to serve in the City of London Yeomanry, which became a Royal Artillery brigade, and inherited his half-brother's titles in 1929. William Pery, 1st Baron Glentworth
William Cecil Pery, 1st Baron Glentworth (26 July 1721 – 4 July 1794) was an 18th-century Anglican bishop in Ireland. He was born on 26 July 1721, the son of Reverend Stackpole Pery and Jane Twigg, daughter of William Twigg, Archdeacon of Limerick, and educated at Trinity College, Dublin. His elder brother was Edmund Pery, 1st Viscount Pery and younger sister was Lucy Hartstonge the founder of what is now St John's Hospital. He was Dean of Killaloe (1772-1780) and then Derry. Pery was nominated Bishop of Killala and Achonry on 7 January 1781 and consecrated on 18 February that year. He was translated to Limerick, Ardfert and Aghadoe on 13 May 1784. He was created Baron Glentworth, of Mallow in the Peerage of Ireland, in 1790 and died on 4 July 1794. William Pery, 4th Earl Of Limerick
William Henry Edmund de Vere Sheaffe, 4th Earl of Limerick DL 16 September 1863 – 18 March 1929), styled Viscount Glentworth until 1896, was an Irish peer and British Army officer. Limerick was the only child of William Pery, 3rd Earl of Limerick by his first wife, Caroline Gray. He was educated at Eton College. Upon leaving school, he enlisted as an officer in the army, serving with the Rifle Brigade as a lieutenant between 1884 and 1890. He later moved to the 5th Battalion, Royal Munster Fusiliers, where he was promoted to captain. He was later made an honorary major in the same regiment. Upon the death of his father in 1896, he became the Earl of Limerick. He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant for the County of Limerick. Edmund Henry Pery, 1st Earl of Limerick PC (8 January 1758 – 7 December 1844), styled Lord Glentworth between 1794 and 1800, and Viscount Limerick until 1803, was an Irish peer and politician. Pery was the son of William Cecil Pery, 1st Baron Glentworth and his first wife, Jane Walcott, daughter of John Minchin Walcott, and educated at Trinity College Dublin. He married Mary Alice, the daughter of Henry Ormsby of County Mayo, by his wife Mary Hartstonge, in 1783, and they had at least eight children. Mary Alice was the heiress of her uncle, Sir Henry Hartstonge, 3rd Baronet, who left her substantial property in the south of Ireland. She died in 1850. Pery was elected to the Irish Parliament as the Member of Parliament for Limerick in 1786 and held the seat until 1794, when he inherited his father's barony and took his seat in the Irish House of Lords. Nicole Péry (born 15 May 1943) is a French politician who served as Secretary of State for Women's Rights and Professional Training from 1998 to 2002 under Prime Minister Lionel Jospin. A member of the Socialist Party (PS), she is a professor of literature by occupation. Péry served as Deputy Mayor of Ciboure from 1977 to 1983, when she became leader of the municipal opposition in Bayonne. She entered the European Parliament in 1981 and the National Assembly in 1997, after she stood as a candidate in the 5th constituency of Pyrénées-Atlantiques. Pery Igel (November 27, 1921 – September 24, 1998) was a Brazilian businessman. Igel was Ultrapar, Ultra's second president, succeeding his father and company's founder, Ernesto Igel. Biography Igel was the administrator and second president of Ultra. He took over the company created by his father, Ernesto Igel, in 1959. After two years as president, Igel moved the headquarters from Rio de Janeiro to São Paulo, Brazil. Péry
Péry is part of the municipality of Péry-La Heutte in the Jura bernois administrative district in the canton of Bern in Switzerland. It is located in the French-speaking Bernese Jura (''Jura Bernois''). History The first mention of Péry is in 884 where it is called ''villam Bedericam''. In 1148 it was known as ''Peril'', though that name comes from a 12th-century forgery. The municipality was formerly known by its German name ''Büderich'', however, that name is no longer used. In 884, Charles the Fat granted Péry to Moutier-Grandval Abbey. The Abbey owned the village and surrounding lands until 999 when the Prince-Bishop of Basel acquired the village. He incorporated it into the seigniory of Erguel and gave the village to the Lords of Péry who ruled from Châtillon Castle, now a ruin, on a nearby hill.
