Pervouralsk (, lit. ''the first in the Urals'') is a city in Sverdlovsk Oblast, Russia, located on the Chusovaya River (Kama's tributary) west of Yekaterinburg, the administrative center of the oblast. Population: 122,000 (1974); 90,000 (1959); 44,000 (1939). It was previously known as ''Vasilyevsko-Shaytansky'' (until 1920). Nikolai Vasilievich Chigirinsky (; born 17 July 1983), known as The Pervouralsk Ripper (), is a Russian serial killer. Biography Chigirinsky was born on 17 July 1983, in the city of Pervouralsk in the family of a plant security guard and a butcher. While still in school, he began to steal, and was detained while attempting to steal from the city's food store, for which he was registered in the Inspectorate for Juvenile Affairs of the Internal Affairs Directorate. By that time Chigirinsky had already been registered with a psychiatrist, and according to some reports, he had a birth trauma associated with the nervous system. He graduated from the 9th grade of school, with a specialty of a mechanic in the area of repairing metallurgical equipment. Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant () is a steel pipe-producing plant based in the city of Pervouralsk, Sverdlovsk Oblast. As of 2016, the plant is part of the Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling Plant, ChelPipe Group and is considered one of the major producers of pipes for the Russian market. The plant produces pipes of over 25 thousand types and sizes from some 200 grades of carbon, alloyed and stainless steel complying with 34 Russian and 25 foreign standards. Chusovaya River
The Chusovaya () is a river flowing in Perm Krai, Sverdlovsk Oblast and Chelyabinsk Oblast of Russia. A tributary of the Kama, which in turn is a tributary of the Volga, discharges into the Chusovskoy Cove of the Kamsky Reservoir. The river is remarkable in that it originates on the eastern slopes of the Ural Mountains in Asia, crosses the mountains, and mostly runs on their western slopes in Europe. The Chusovaya River is widely used as a source of water. In particular, its water is taken from the Volchikhinsky Reservoir, , to the Verkhneisetsky Reservoir to supply the major city of Yekaterinburg. Fifteen smaller reservoirs are spread over about 150 tributaries of the river. The Russian Bandy Super League (), is a men's professional bandy league in Russia, the top division of Russian bandy. There is no definite rule which teams will be relegated or promoted. Classes During the Soviet time, each of the republics of the Soviet Union, including the Russian SFSR, had its own legislative documents dealing with classification of inhabited localities.
