Peru National Under-20 Football Team
Peru national under-20 football team represents Peru in international football competitions such as South American Youth Championship. The Peruvian U-20 squad has participated in all South American Youth Championships, but had no luck in qualifying to a World Cup. Their best appearance was in 1967, finishing in 3rd place. The team is currently managed by José del Solar, who is also the manager of the Peru Olympic football team. Teams managed by Juan Carlos Oblitas in 1999, by Daniel Ahmed in 2013, and by Víctor Rivera in 2015 have been the most successful teams until 2015. The three of them reached the 5th place. 2015 South American Youth Championship
The 2015 South American Youth Football Championship (, ) was the 27th edition of the biennial international youth football tournament organized by CONMEBOL for the men's under-20 national teams of South America. It was held in Uruguay from 14 January to 7 February 2015. The tournament served as qualifier for several competitions. The top four teams qualified for the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand as the CONMEBOL representatives. Brazil, as hosts, and the champion team qualified directly for the 2016 Summer Olympics men's football tournament while the runner-up team advanced to a play-off against a CONCACAF team for the final berth in the Olympics. 2013 South American Youth Championship
The 2013 South American Youth Football Championship (, ) was an association football competition for national under-20 teams in the South America (CONMEBOL). The tournament was held in Argentina from 9 January to 3 February 2013 and was won by Colombia, with Paraguay as runners-up. Colombia, Paraguay, Uruguay and Chile, which were the first four teams of this tournament qualified for the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup to be held in Turkey. 1999 South American Youth Championship
The 1999 South American Youth Championship (Sudamericana sub-20) is a football competition contested by all ten U-20 national football teams of CONMEBOL. The tournament was held in Argentina between 5 and 25 January 1999, the 23rd time the competition had been held and the 2nd to take place in the country. Argentina finished undefeated, winning their 3rd trophy. Format The teams are separated in two groups of five, and each team plays four matches in a pure round-robin stage. Juan Carlos Oblitas
Juan Carlos Oblitas Saba (16 February 1951 in Mollendo, Arequipa) is a retired Peruvian footballer, who is a football manager, who is nicknamed ''El Ciego'' ("The Blind One"). Oblitas was an extraordinary outside left wing forward at the national team level for Peru back in the 1970s and 1980s. Biography Juan Carlos Oblitas, el ''Ciego'', was born in Mollendo, Arequipa on 16 February 1951. He is married to Virginia Villamarin and has three children (Gisella, Juan Fernando, and Vanessa). He has six grandchildren. His son Juan Fernando has three daughters: Paula, Ariana and Andrea. As a player, he was a participant at the 1978 and 1982 FIFA World Cups. Peru Olympic football team (also known as Peru under-23, Peru U23) represents Peru in international football competitions in multi-sport events such as the Olympic Games and the Pan American Games. The selection is limited to players under the age of 23, except three overage players. The team is controlled by the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF). Peru has participated in two Olympic football tournaments, one Pan American football tournament, and 7 Bolivarian football tournaments under this category.
