Pertti Mäkipää (4 August 1941 – 19 August 2019) was a Finnish footballer who played as a midfielder. He made 46 appearances for the Finland national team from 1962 to 1970. Tampereen Ilves, commonly known as Ilves, (; Finnish for "Lynx") is a Finnish professional ice hockey team based in Tampere. They play in the Liiga at the Nokia Arena. The colors of Ilves, green, yellow, and black, were taken from what was then the coat of arms of the city of Tampere. History With sixteen championships, Ilves is the second most successful hockey team in the Finnish championship league, the Liiga, after their local rival Tappara. The club was founded in the spring of 1931, and it played its first game against Tampereen Palloilijat the next winter. In the late 1930s, Ilves won three Finnish championship titles as the first Tampere-based hockey team. After World War II, Ilves started playing its home games at the then new Koulukatu ice rink. Reipas (July 14, 1948 – September 20, 1971) was a successful Finnish harness racing, trotter. He was a Finnhorse gelding, and the first Finnish horse to earn over one million Finnish Mark, marks in one season. Reipas was the best earning trotter in Finland through 1958–1960, and his earnings each season exceeded one million Marks, corresponding roughly to EUR 20,000. He was owned and mostly driven by Aapeli Miettinen. Reipas competed in 1952–1965, winning 348 of his approximately 1300 heats. His greatest win count in one season was 62. Being a gelding, Reipas never had offspring. His statue has been erected in the town centre of his home, Varpaisjärvi.
