Perth Glory FC (women)
Perth Glory Football Club is an Australian professional soccer club based in Perth, Western Australia. It competes in the country's premier women's competition, A-League Women. The team was established in 2008, with the founding of the new league. History Establishment After Australia reached the quarter-finals of the 2007 FIFA Women's World Cup for the first time, head coach Tom Sermanni felt the establishment of a professional league was vital for continuing the development of players. Perth Glory was one of eight teams included in the establishment of the league the following year by Football Federation Australia. Ownership and team management During the team's inaugural season, the women's team was managed by Nicola Williams who improved to be a top–four performing side in the second half of the season. Football West
Football West is the state governing body for soccer in Western Australia (WA). It is affiliated with Football Australia (FA), the sport's national governing body, and through FA's affiliation to FIFA. Football West's premier competition is the National Premier Leagues Western Australia (NPL WA), which is the highest league in WA and one tier below the national A-League. NPL WA is a division within the National Premier Leagues. Football West is also responsible for running Western Australia's National Training Centre in conjunction with FA and the WA Government's Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC). The World Game
''The World Game'' was an Australian football (soccer) television show broadcast on the SBS network, as well as a dedicated associated website. The show debuted in September 2002 and was the only Australian TV program dedicated to both football news and issues within Australia as well as around the world. Caitlin Doeglas
Caitlin Doeglas (born 1 September 1996) is an Australian soccer player who plays for Perth Glory in the Ninja A-League. She made her debut for Perth in the 2015–16 W-League and plays as an attacking midfielder. In the 2016–17 season she scored the second fastest goal in W-league history against Western Sydney Wanderers when she scored in 14 seconds. This was also her first goal in the competition. She was described by her coach, Bobby Despotovski, as a "versatile player who can operate both in midfield and up front". She also played for Alamein FC in the National Premier Leagues Victoria. Early life Born in Thailand, where she was discouraged from playing football, Phonsongkham moved to Australia with her mother in 2012 to escape domestic violence.
